hi all.
I posted a while ago that my sigma 150-500 hsm os wouldn't lock focus. well, I sent it off and they replaced an mr sensor, but they contacted me and said that the lens was still "very soft", and they wanted to send it off to japan for recalibration, all included in the repair price of £146.
Sigma have just rang, and said that the lens cannot be repaired/re-calibrated to acceptable levels. they have offered a brand new, straight from the factory, 50-500 hsm os with a 3 year warranty as a direct replacement....only the repair fee to pay.
very happy with that.....

the canon pixma ip8750 is £199.00 at jessops, and with a £35 cashback from Canon, bringing it down to £164. May have a look into that one......

looking at possibly getting an A3 printer, but unsure which one to choose.
ive read (on here) that Epsom printers tend to clog up if not used often enough, though Canon ones seem to be ok.
any recommendations?
max budget of £200.00, though would ideally like it to be half that!!

It depends on the sensor size.
For me 16mp seems about right for aps-c (think k5iis).
Fwiw i have a k3 (24mp) which i am perfectly happy with.

Ages....how long?

I sent the above lens to sigma as it wouldnt autofocus properly. Kept hunting, and when it did "lock" focus, it was way out. I sent it in and they said it needed a new mr sensor. Theyve had it for 3 weeks, and ive just received a call that it is still "very soft", so the repair was not 100 percent successful. They are having to send it to Japan (at no extra cost to me) for further repair....said it had to go on some kind of projector to calibrate.
Downside is though, it will take 6 to 8 weeks.
