as a couple of people have mentioned, i looked at the raynox type lenses, the 150 and 250.
after reading a few reviews i decided that i would go for the 150 which was £34.99 on amazon (last friday)
now to go off on a tangent!!
i clicked on "1-click order", and was reminded that i need to sign in to use this facility. so i signed in (a matter of seconds!), only to find the price was now £38.99.
i didnt order it, but looking tonight, the price is now £47.75....unbelievable.
thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply, and thanks for the advice.
will wait till it comes back down in price though, which it will!!

how do i reset my password?
i was sent a new password but want to change it to something i will remember. in "my settings" i have put in my current password (the one i was sent), then put in a new password, then retyped my new password and clicked on save changes but keep getting a message saying that my new password does not match my stored password.
any help would be appreciated.

thanks to all of you for the replies, and wow dougf8, youve really done some research there.
i may keep an eye out for a m50/1.7, though i will probably hang on a few weeks and see if i can afford a bit more, something like charlotte`s sigma.
i will keep an eye on the classifieds on here and see if anything comes up, maybe about £100.
thanks again for the replies, and though i dont post much, i have learned so much from this forum.
keep up the good work.

can anyone recommend a budget/cheapish macro lens for a K-R. i have a tamron 70 - 300 which has a macro facility, but would prefer a proper macro.
is there such a thing for around the 50 quid mark, or if not what price am i looking at. the only ones i can find are a few hundred quid, which is a definate no no.
i would prefer used, just to keep costs down.
thanks,
simon.

i put a similar post up a few weeks ago (my flash choices...but which one?), and ended up getting a Metz 50af-1, £160 with free delivery from srsmicrosystems.
i must say i am very pleased with it, and find it works great with my KR, though the menu system does take some getting used to, but i suppose thats the same with the sigma flashes.
srs also do the sigma ef610dg super for £170.
either of these two would be a good choice, but i based my decision on the the metz being a bit smaller in size and from what ive read, an easier user interface.

hope this helps.

bill barnes.
cactus af50 sold through gadgetinfinity, either online store or through ebay.
quite a reputable company from what i understand, and quite good spec for the price.

thanks for the replies.
in answer to some of the questions.
i would like to use it off camera, but i dont think i would be pairing it with another flash any time soon (again, budget).
power wise i think any of them would be sufficient for my needs. mainly indoor shots & fill in flash outside.
However, i would like learn to be a bit more creative, so features i may not use yet, i may do so later, hence a flash that i can "grow" into.

i know everyones choice is subjective, but at least i may be able to make a more informed choice, based from genuine users rather than manufacturers bumph.

thanks again,
simon.

hi all. new to the forum so first post, and i need a bit of advice.
i need (want) a flash for my k-r and having looked around i have come to these 4 choices, but cant decide which. over the last few days i have been going to order each one of these at some point, decide one of the others may be the better option and so on.

my 4 options are:

Cactus AF50 £98 from gadgetinfinity.
i keep going back to this one, based purely on cost. (limited budget)

Metz 44AF-1 £120 from srsmicrosystems.
i like this for ease of use, but will i miss some of the functions of the others further down the line.

Metz 50AF-1 £160 from srsmicrosystems.
"only" £40 dearer than the 44AF-1, but more features. worth the extra?

Sigma ef 610 dg super £170 from srsmicrosystems.
this really is the top of my budget. only thing putting me off is that ive read that the user interface is terrible. is it?

has anyone used, owns, or would recommend one of these over the others?

as i say, my first choice would be the Cactus, but based purely on cost.
i think this one may be a gamble though as i cant find reviews of it.

any help/advice would be most welcome. ive been driving myself nuts with this!!

thanks for reading such a long winded post.

simon.
