Just a thought, but whoever wins would need access to online hosting with a sizeble download quota.

If you meant 12mm vs 10mm there's examples around

HERE (scroll down)

HERE

Plenty of others around. It looks like a huge difference, but in reality can be equalled out by taking a few steps. If you absolutely need the width because you can't move then the Sigma is your only option at present. Tamron are releasing a 10-24mm but not sure when we'll se it in Pentax fitment.

I think 42mm may be a typo ?

Carl, in the comp section it states

This time, as summer tries to arrive, I thought it might be good to get out and about and into the woods and forests. Could be a landscape, could be architecture, could be people in your images, but the brief is to shoot something in our woods and forests.

I can feel the sun filtering through into leafy glades already.....

I took this one yesterday whilst out with some friends, so was taken a little hurriedly
Something is bugging me about the composition of this one, I wont say what it is as then you would see it my way. general C & C most welcome on this one & particularly any crop alternatives also (feel free to crop & upload if you wish, if you're bored enough that is!)

I think it's worth toying with as I like the light on the rocks, it is fairly local to me though so a re-shoot will probably be my best ption (sans impatient friends).

You only have to see a Mallard turn his head once, to realise Iridescence is at play.

Peacocks & hummingbirds are other fine examples, tricky to try & get all 3 in one shot though !

Jason, do you get a "locals discount" perchance ?

Wonderfull shot and the DA300 shines once again.
I think that you will find that it is the moon that is shining!
I think you'll find that it's the sun that is shining & the moon is reflecting the light back to earth !

I wonder how marked the difference would be at the same shutter speed & aperture ?

Why not shoot RAW+JPEG for a while then compare your processed versions with the out-of-camera jpegs ?

Pity about the low number of entries - but it seems this is now a regular complaint. Shame not to see an entry from you RR, if you're reading - I reckon your take on reflections would have been interesting.

Thanks Mhuni, didn't quite have the time to commit to this one I'm afraid & although I like to participate, I wouldn't enter an image just to make up the numbers. One of my ideas was similar to your entry, but I doubt I could have found such interesting subjects or executed it quite as well. Congratulations.

I'm looking forward to the next one though as I have some more spare time over the next 2 weeks.
