Raw, should there be more to do PP?

Take my shots in RAW and find that most only seem to require a little sharpening and a tiny tweak of black in some cases, have found no need to use levels or any of the other items like contrast or brightness. Makes it a quick, crop, sharpen and finish.

However I am beginning to worry I should be getting more from my shots what should I be checking in particular to see if it would be better with some adjustment

Why not shoot RAW+JPEG for a while then compare your processed versions with the out-of-camera jpegs ?

My istDS will not do that but I do take both on my K20 and find the Jpeg a bit vivid. Yes know I could change the settings but I always think it is my perception that is off not the camera.

That simple means you're a good photographer
now try to crop as little photos as you can and you're there.

Kind of you Stefan but not sure I believe you there simply must be something the needs adjustment, life, well my life is just not like that.

No really that's all you need to adjust if your photos are good.
Of-course you can throw an effect over them but purely as photo that's it, I don't think most do more some even do less I believe.

Nothing. Only make an adjustment with an image if something about it annoys you, or if a way of enhancing it comes to mind that you want to persue.
