I can get one of these for £450 from a UK pentax pro dealer with a full 2 year warrenty. what are they like, and is it worth it. The reason I ask is I've read loads of reviews and get different opions, so I thought I would ask people who use it every day.

That sounds like a very good price for what I think most people will agree is a superb lens.

If it's what you need, I'd grab it fast.

Oh - and when you've got yours, tell the forum where you got it from. If you announce it now, you might find they have nill stock when you order.

Jason, do you get a "locals discount" perchance ?

It's my local camera shop, only 2 miles away and I've always brought every thing of him. But he played it sensible and brought loads of stock when he found out about the price rises. He has 17 of them left, which is now 16 as from Monday.
He's not one of these greedy retailers, he gives honest advice and buy the sounds of it great value for money. But it may be local discount as he knows me not sure.

At least you're not within 2 miles of Cambrian in Colwyn Bay, if Mark had had the lens for that money I would have bought it....

Its a joy to use. SO smooth and quiet. And even wide open, the one I have used was super sharp.
