Does anyone remember these Slik 88 Black Diamond tripods?

I'm still using mine and it's still in excellent condition.

Now for the next question, does anyone have or know where one might obtain the 6017 Lens Supporter, or the 6018 Flash Holder?

Took with the pentax 50mm 1.7 I have mixed feelings with this lens. Being a manual focus sometimes the shot is very sharp and good detail and other times very disapoining. Probably due to my poor vision however I will keep it in my bag and hope for more good days.
Ian.
Focus does not seem to be an issue, this is a fine shot, and the focus is sharp and well defined!

No worries!

I could not agree more Lilly,

B&W can , and often does, produce an absolutely stunning shot, to decry it is foolish, to say the least.

As aspiring photographers, I think that we should study all mediums, only then can we fully understand what can be achieved by the camera!

I'm only scratching the surface with my K20D, and I'm more than willing to listen and learn from my peers.

As a newcomer to DSLR, can anyone explain the advantages of Lightroom V 2 over Lightroom 1.1?

As I'm not a professional, I think Lightroom 1.1, should be more than adequate, but your thoughts on this would be welcome.

K20D SMC DA 18-55mm ,SMC DA 55-300mm,and Lightroom 1.1

What address did you send to Lilly. was it one specifically for queries for cashback claims?
yes I did address specified on cashback form, checked again today & still no payback!
Hi Lilly,

Please telephone Pentax, and ask to speak to Andrew Mellor, who can confirm that your cashback request has been received, as normally the turnaround is very good!

regards,

Peter.

Hello,

I've just started my photographic learning journey courtesy of a terrifyingly complex looking Pentax K20D and a 16-45 lens. I've actually been researching getting a dslr for around 18 months now and its actually been the online community that has finally helped me make up my mind + of course my usual habit of not following the sheep
A few notes:
1: You cannot buy a new DSLR Pentax anywhere in Ireland it seems.
2: Canon everywhere, Nikon next up and all soon to be swallowed up by Sony shelf space wise.
3: I bought fairly blind but qudos to SRS for taking and handling all my calls, big thanks to Nikki, Chris and Will for finally sorting me out.
4: The K20D feels so good in hand, really makes a D60 or 400D feel a bit fisher price.
5: The Pentax online community seem to me to be a bit less kit obsessed, more picture obsessed and generally a lot more mature that their competition.

I apologise in advance for all the remarkably stupid questions I shall probably ask in the coming months.

Regards All,

R
Hello Robbie,

You've bought a fine piece of kit, I have bought the K20D recently, and I've just added the SMC DA 50-300mm lens.

Robbie are you likely to get up to Donegal?
If you do, I look forward to seeing some fine shots of the rugged landscapes.

I've only ventured as far as The Ring of Kerry, but found it very over commercialised and touristy, I've been told Donegal is more like the Ireland of old.
Anyway welcome to the forum & comliments of the season

The black plastic blob is now ell over 30 years old since the Canon T90 caused it's revolution an dthings havwe not changed much apart from sticking a sensor in the film gate so some sort of change is well overdue and camera makers are a very conservative and unimaginative lot, so something new is always interesting.

It will be interesting to see if there is now a desparate deluge of weirdly coloured DSLR's,...shades of the APS film SLR's such as the illfated 'Pronea'.

At least with a white body there is more reflection in hot/sunny climes, and white will be ok for spraying to a desired colour once the warranty runs out,....at the mo' one has to first spray white and then the colour/camopattern and wear quickly shows black edges.
Who is going to set up a Custom Camera shop, with decals, Metaflake and such like?
Perhaps who knows, Nitro injection shutter speeds,
The mind boggles

I don't really care for a white camera, but I'm sure all the other manufacturers are going to keep a sharp eye on this camera to see if they can use the same trick to try to increase their market share. If the thing does catch on' I wouldn't be surprised to see white (or other colour) Nikon and Canon.
Let's see we can have a pink Pentax for the ladies, a blue Pentax for the boys, and for the "rugged outdoors wild life photograpers, we can offer the "Pentax Camo", also available in "Desert Camo".

As a certain comedian might say "IT'S A CAMERA".

I rest my case!
