Surety the printing company will sort out any resizing issue? That's unless you're printing the posters yourself.

Suggest you Google Viewing Distance.
You are probably right, anyhow I sent both the original and enhanced files so they can pick which they want. TBH it was just an excuse to try the new feature.

To keep file size down, why not rezz it up in Photoshop?
It’s probably me but whenever I try Photoshop’s special effects like sharpening the results don’t look good when I zoom in on the details, I get better more natural looking results from Lightroom probably because in LR I can see the changes as they happen and not in a silly tiny preview screen. PS feels to me like an ancient piece of software which has only had features added since although it does have its uses sometimes.

The file size I mentioned is for the whole uncropped image whereas Enhance is normally used for heavy crops so the file size wouldn’t be abnormally large.

It angers me when governments and companies pay lip service to zero carbon targets and conservation but push on regardless with dinosaur transport projects - we have the HS2 travesty nearby. Check out the Legal and General Sustainability and Inclusive Capitalism Report and see how tarmacing over this land for high carbon aviation compares (clue: it doesn’t). Can I suggest the local or national Welsh press would love to run a feature on this with your excellent photos and join forces with a non-political conservation group like the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales. Maximum embarrassment and negative publicity for L&G might have more results than a government justifying everything with economic arguments. Beware though, they will probably push for “sustainable” housing instead. Your photos could make more difference than thousands of words.

I have been asked to produce an image which will be used on a 3 x 1 metre poster so decided to try the new upscaling feature in Lightroom. Easy-peasy, when you have done your Lightroom processing right click on the image and select Enhance and then Super Resolution, it will then generate a new .dng file but beware, mine went from a 49.9 MB to a whopping 541.4 MB file! I should say though that you would normally only use this if the original had been heavily cropped whereas I have left the cropping to the client so it will fit their template.

Good photos Gareth. Street photography is tricky, there are so many photos out there and I always ask myself what is it about the photo that makes it worth recording? I guess 99% are just pointless; there needs to be an interesting conjunction, chance events or a great portrait to make some sort of point.

As to finding your genre, I am sure that is right if you want to make a career or have a special interest but there are commercial phographers who will do something completely different in their own time. One of the most interesting outcomes of the Rankin programme was how participants from one genre really shone when challenged to do something completely different, e.g. the landscape photographer who produced great shots of a band, and the wildlife photographer who created outstanding portraits. By all means concentrate on finding your niche but be alive to other opportunities as well.

I haven’t used Image Synch for a while but now it won’t connect from an iPad with my K1. I have just downloaded the latest software update for the K1 but it makes no difference. Ideas anyone?

Non-photographer's review of the last of the series in the i. The last paragraph is interesting. IMO.
What a silly review, she clearly wanted the same tired old formula of weekly dismissals to perk it up whereas as a photographer I enjoyed and appreciated seeing the participants develop and what they came up with, and I think that was the intention.

I thought this was a great ending to a super series, up there with Grayson Perry’s Art Club, we really need more like this. I suspect a lot was lost in editing the programmes down to an hour which a shame, and was surprised at the final joint winners but they all did really well. The challenges didn’t require special equipment except where this was lent to them so a fair level playing field. Did anyone else look at their recent photos and think there is a lot to improve upon? I did which shows how worthwhile the programme was.

According to Pentax Rumors (sic) the K3.III was the best selling camera in Japan for April.
