Browsing in W H Smith I came across FP Cameracraft magazine targeting aspiring professional photographers. A good in depth review of the K-1 pointing out it's appeal to pros and concluding it is the best DSLR on the market.

I'm not aware of pro's using D810's or K-1's for sports action but I may be wrong.
Consider the market size for fast accurate high speed sports camera's against the rest of the market usage.
Any one seriously wanting a top sports body at the moment should not look past a D500, it's a no brainer.
A FF mirror-less 36Mp Ricoh M-1 would be a different kettle of fish though.
Best regards
I am going to contradict my earlier comment as a quick check shows that the pro bodies supplied for the olympics were the Canon 1DX II and Nikon D5, both full frame and low pixel count but fast frame rate as a result. So ultimately you make a choice between frame rate and detail depending on your field, and as K10D indicates the latter is where Pentax focus. But a body must retain a reasonable frame rate to stay commercial and that is the limiting factor to pixel count. Hang on, why am I debating this, I have only just bought the K-1, and no way am I changing in the foreseeable future!McGregNi wrote:

H'mmm. we're suddenly into sports action cameras? Pentax don't do them. I thought that high MP cameras would be good for sport / action because you can crop more, allowing more freedom in framing .... ?

Not sure where this is going. The new top end Nikon and Canon have 20mp sensors for enhanced low light operation; I guess high mp sensors are best for sports and action as long as the frame rate can be maintained, but this isn't the area targeted by Pentax as evidenced by focus speed and the lens roadmaps.
Isn't it the camera that determines exposure not the lens? I am finding a similar issue with the 15-30 mm, but wonder whether there is a wider dynamic range and greater clarity from these new lenses causing the images to appear brighter.

I have had the same allegedly from TalkTalk, which is odd because I do have a connection through them. I just tell them to email me, oddly enough they don't. Thing is, if there is really a problem with the landline, how do they get through? Must think we are really stupid. As for the Microsoft scam, I usually say 'that's funny, your office called yesterday to fix it, is it still not right?' Line goes dead.
When I worked in an office we were always getting calls saying they could give a better telephone deal. They perked up when I said I was transferring them to telephone accounts, who in reality was an old chap who loved to chat Inconsequentially, and was fascinated to hear what the weather was like in India! Sometimes the call went on for half an hour and I could just picture the exasperation at the other end. They stopped after a while though.

Great set-up, excellent results and well focused. Can not believe it was handheld!

There is vignetting, see top right hand corner of first image.[/quote]Still, that looks outside the APS-C crop frame so if like me you tend to crop a bit in post processing anyway that's a result!RobL wrote:
What no vignetting? That's very interesting.McBrian wrote:
