As I said in my first post I wondered if this offer was too good to be true and put this on the forum to see if what others thought, so sorry you jumped in a bit too quick Vic. It turns out to have been worthwhile as Amazon is a frequently used source for kit and like everyone else assume it is reliable. Hope you have the last laugh and post a photo of said lens, or otherwise get your money back.

Curiously the same Amazon dealer Bellseal Ltd has several other "used - as new" Pentax lenses at big discounts, eg the DA 300mm for £500.00+ postage. Pick your lens, if it has a used offer chances are this site features. Everything on his site has the same description "The product was used only for advertising purposes in my store....".. Yet if you google the name it is a bath seal business. So, is it kosher? Perhaps Vic will let us know if and when he gets his order.

You think you have got away with it? No chance. Problem now is, saying you can't afford the new bathroom/holiday/sofa etc just doesn't cut it any more. Enjoy!

Googling a Samyang TS 24 mm lens Pentax fit on Amazon UK comes up with a "used - as new" offer at £300 + 5.99 delivery from Bellseal Ltd. with the following explanation: "The product was used only for advertising purposes in my store, and the price is so low because has been unpacked-,full warranty, full accessories New,never,used-Before buying let me know here". Now, funnily enough, exactly the same description is given for a Walimex Pro tilt-shift lens but at £400.00 + delivery which are listed at around £1000 new elsewhere so too good to be true?

Has anyone come across Walimex Pro lenses? They look identical to the Samyang ones but much more expensive.

I took these a couple of days ago with a K-1 and DFA 15-30 lens when the tide was on the turn, and creating a lovely reflective film over the wet sand. A bit breezy as well so great for surfers, and I was in two minds whether to use a telezoom instead to get the wave crests backlit by the setting sun and there wasn't time for both. There's always tomorrow I thought but of course the next day was awful and the one after a dead calm so that plan is filed away for another time. All taken on manual settings, the first three with a tripod, and somewhere out there is one of the rubber feet off my Manfrotto Befree!Comment Image

This is my preferred option for wildlife, with the focus action on the shutter button disabled. If I have one criticism it is that the back button on Pentax is a bit small, but with the FA150-450 lens the lens-mounted focus buttons are favourite. However I have found a snag (isn't there always one?); the other day I was trying to photograph a jay in a tree and as they are so shy I was being really patient, until I finally got a clear line of sight through the foliage. Pressed the lens focus button - nothing happened. Baffled at first I finally realised that the body had gone into sleep mode on which the lens focus button has no effect, by which time the bird had flown.

I have seen lens comparison tests where Pentax loses points for not having SR. But these are only of value in comparing lenses which fit on your chosen mount; are you going to change brands because a slight difference in a lens review? I don't think so. I now favour magazines which concentrate on photographic results not geeky obsession with kit reviews.

I'm not an HP printer user - it would be interesting to hear if other Forum users have encountered this issue.
I have just bought one of these for work, ignorant of the issue. I wondered why it was such a faff to set up. I was quite attracted to the HP contract whereby for a fixed monthly charge the printer tells some place in the US that it needs more ink and it gets posted out. However I haven't bothered working out my usage, and if you exceed your agreed rate there is an extra exorbitant charge per sheet (15p I think) so that got cancelled as one month I might print ten sheets and another a hundred. I was also surprised to find that all the colours are in a single cartridge, so presumably you throw the lot out if say cyan is used up but there is still plenty of the other colours. It is early days but the jury is out on this one.

Ps it has a small second tray for photos and they come out ok, but the software doesn't recognise a photo file and prints it on the copy paper; the only way it will print on photo paper is to manually select it on the printer panel. It is supposed to print directly from your phone and I bet most would use it for photos, so another misleading bit of promo.

I noticed an advert on AP site for a show in Liverpool 15th to 16th October listing Pentax (not Ricoh) Perhaps just some stuff on sale? http://www.digitalsplash.tv/exhibitors/
Ricoh are listed separately. Good to see the distinction is still being maintained.
