Water Louse, captured in a small aquarium (100mm x 50mm x 50mm), set up to replicate the chalk stream whence it came.
Alive, well & , seemingly, quite content!

All K5, 100mm D FA Macro, + Tamron 1.4 converter + 31mm ext. tube.
AF240FT off-camera flash.
Handheld, manual focus, aided by small halogen torch.
Elements 11.

Interesting that yours come from a white(?) environment and are almost transparent. The bottom of our local stream is heavily shaded and covered with a thin coat of very dark algea. The lice are black. Seems they must adapt to camouflage. Try your little tank idea with tadpoles next spring - it works a treat !
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

A great little set - you've certainly put some effort into it The eye of the louse is intriguing, it's like some pink glittery decal from a childs toy :
