I have tried using the following setups with my K-5:
1) Built in flash only
2) AF360FGZ on camera
3) Built in flash as controller, AF360 wireless slave
4) Built in flash as master, AF360 wireless slave
Options 1-3 are consistently well exposed, option 4 is consistently under exposed.
Any thoughts please?
Custom menu "21.Flash in wireless mode" settings:
set to "1 On" for 4) above
set to "2 Off" for 3) above
AF360 set to "Wireless" and "S" of camera, and "On" when on camera

The theory is when I am on holiday I can explore all the features in the manual and then practise them on the camera. However I have two small children and the theory doesn't often work!

However:
-at around a meter or so the DoF is a few millimetres
-there is no real guidance on how big the focus area really is
Attached is an example image (my first attempt at attaching an image, so forgive me if it doesn't work) that to my mind is out of focus i.e. far eye rather than near eye.
Am I being too fussy, or expecting too much?

I have also found you can do it by adding Quicktime from www.apple.com/quicktime. If I had read more of the adobe manual before I posted the question I would have found this out!

After further research I have installed the Morgan Multimedia MPEG codec and it all seems to be working.
