I will also only sell like that if the enquiry is made by a member of good standing.
[/quote]Could you elaborate on the above term "member of good standing", sharks come in all shapes and sizes and the best old adage is Buyer Be Ware

While were at it, why don't we clone out:
The lamp post.
The traffic lights
The telecoms cabinet
The trunking across the bridge.
The pipe across the bridge.
The house at the end of the bridge.

Well its all down to a lack of education and the Americans, center, color I will not go on. Since the abolition of the three R's and all our taxes that have been poured into education by consecutive governments there is no hope and all has been lost. It is now easier to alter the English dictionary than to teach the language correctly.
Yours, another old fart,
Rees.

It was some time ago that I suggested you needed a particular bird seed, you probably forgot, but I can see now you have it and here they are in abundance.
Good shots Scott,

As soon as the UK stocks of Pentax have been depleted, there is only one way new imports of Pentax equipment are heading! Upwards - a most recent prediction is by 25%, of course, that applies also to the rivals as well.

Perhaps we should all change to the Pentax X70, with an excellent specification: Poor battery life: No ability to shoot RAW files: No hot shoe for external: No filter thread: Off-centre tripod bush: Poor high ISO performance:Zooming into shots on playback slow: and one you will all like and appreciate: It looks and feels a little plastic box:
Now could we find something credible to exchange our views on please

Car manufacturers do it all the time, don't have the cash to invest in a new model, so we'll put some new headlights on, tweak this, tweak that.
Its a K20 D whatever the colour and it is being left behind as far as development goes.

I have the LX and MX, but the one I use quite a lot is the Pentax SFXn, it has "Trap Focus" and can be useful for wildlife subjects.

Need some advice

Poised to get this for my K20D...mainly for indoor portraiture with/without(?) flash, but for the odd flower or bird outside etc

Pentax smc DA* 55mm F1.4 SDM Lens

Should I get a filter? UV or polarising...both??

Not subscribing to Pentaxusers at present....any discounts to be had with https://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/, free next day delivery etc?

Bit of an amateur but learning fast

All advice greatfully received.

For a portraiture Lens I would advise either 70 or 80 mm Lens, you definitely do NOT need a polariser for portraiture. A UV filter is useful to protect the lens, Hoyer make one called "A Lens Protector". You do not necessarily need an Ultra Violet filter for portrait work. I notice you have a 35 - 80mm Lens, but suspect its not fast enough for your indoor requirements, but at the 80mm end, your Lens would be fine with flash.
