Bad spelin'

How come so many people put an e, on the end of the word lens? - Every other listing on ebay, seems to be for a LENSE. - And does the fact that I find this annoying, mean that I'm turning into a conservative old fart?

It's a strange Internet effect. Someone somewhere must start it off and the error becomes compounded, increasing exponentially.....

Lens is spelt lens and the plural is lenses. Maybe the mistake started with the plural form confusing the issue.

Hefty.-

I'm also very annoyed with you! - For listing your SMC 135 Tak, at almost exactly the same time as I put mine on. - Mine seems to be doing a bit better than yours at the moment, though!

Yes.

It winds me up too as do people who loose things or have an itinery for a trip. But we often develop funny little ways as we get older; some people can't spell, others use commas needlessly and put hyphens between sentences.

Wow! - A semi-colon...! I wish I were educated enough to know when to use a semi-colon.

I dont care how its put or how its spelt longs I get the gist of it thats all that matters, and as long as the other person understands me then thats fine.
If someone on here needs help and I can understand what that person is looking for then I will help if I can, no what I mean John

I agree Tel, as long as it is comprehensible it doesn't really matter too much, and English is a second language for quite a few posters.

It does get annoying sometimes seeing the spelling not only on this forum but on other websites too. I don't know if IE offers a spelling checker but Firefox does and it isn't so difficult to just check your spelling with it before pressing enter.

I have made mistakes too - thinking faster than I can type, but if I spot a mistake after I've posted I'll correct it.

But lense seems to be becoming the norm. Probably because it is a soft 's' so people assume it must have an e after it (like cleanse).
