A roof and wall

I always try to look up when walking in a town even one as small and frankly dowdy as Droitwich.

Seriously though, I quite like it, or at least I would if it wasn't for the ADT alarm box and the security camera. I think this would be a far stronger image with both those cloned out, leaving the shadow in the bottom right competing with that "vent"? on the "roof"?

Do the suggested cloning and I'll give it 9/10

One of the things I do like about this is the way it got my mind trying to decide if those tiles were vertical cladding of sorts or actually the roof? but they cant be the roof tiles unless you've changed the perspective of the top half.

I'm sure you will enlighten me.

I think the tiles were cladding although they did have a slight angle to them.

Hmm, I thought the camera at least was required was to make anything of the composition. The box was slightly irritating especially as it was far brighter than the bricks but even so I felt it contributed. I'll try some cloning and see how it goes.

What I did try was darkening the shadows down to black but that didn't seem quite right either.

You've misaligned your bricks where the box was - they're not staggered any more. And there are a couple of half-and-half coloured bricks where the camera was.

As long as you smile for the security cameras Mike, when your walking around looking up, good idea to wear some goggles though in case of dive bombing pigeons.

Daniel - it was quick and dirty to see if people thought it was an improvement. I doubt that it is but I was interested to see what others thought.

Rees I did get caught by someone while photographing what I thought was an empty office. Out he pops asking why I'm photographing his office which it turns out is a gaming machine depot. It also turned out that we were close (well 5 miles) neighbours and had friends in common. I do in fact make myself very plain to all security cameras so there can be no doubt about my good intentions.
