"The K-5 beats the Canon / Nikon equivalents "
i agree with this .on our course when certain settings require aleration canon, nikon and sony are all diving into menues while i am sat waiting because all i had to do was press a button on the top or back

snap

fwiw the best are the Pinestone colour, deffo a bit of class lol

i have a retrospective 30 cost £138 but it holds everything when needed and as you say it does not look like your typical camera bag. at the moment have just come back from a short break so all my stuff is still in it ,that is :- K5 with 16-50 attached,10-17 fe,sigma 10-20,da 55-300,da40,fa50,sigma105, 360 flash, full pack of cokin filters and adapters ,holder, spare batteries, remotes, gorillapod zoom with ball head . may not be billingham but at the price size for size i reckon it is pretty good and it comes with rain cover when needed

it,s also about having the sdm/hsm contacts as well ,pushes the price up a Jessops 1.7x with all contacts went for over £130 on ebay a few weeks back

agree with greynolds999 completely. used mine with tamron 18-250,DA 55-300 @ 300, DA*16-50,no lightweight, no trouble at all. as for pressing the button if you are using a tripod of any sort for support you will more likely be using a remote release anyway to avoid camera movement. always have mine with me, and that is agood price comeplete with head go for it

a jessops one went for £139 because it had the sdm contacts

try a part time course at your local college, you will be amazed at what you can learn in a couple of concentrated hours a week, plus you are with a group of people all in the same position as you are. i went down this route and am now on my 5th term and now we are getting well into photoshop, using our cameras in all the modes. we have ended up as our own little camera club, plus you can critique each others work and nobody gets offended if it is negative as it is all part of the learning curve.you also do projects and research . i think for a tenner a week it is the best ten pounds i have ever spent, plus with the present climate re cuts etc it is a use it or loose it and it would be a great shame if things like this disappear to future generations
