Macro | The mating Wasp

hishammarmin
Posted 04/04/2012 - 05:09 Link
This couple of wasps was in the middle of mating process when I meet them. Male at the top..hehe! Shoot in swamp area and if not mating, these wasps quite difficult to shoot (always moving around).

Taken by handheld.

Well captured, not a wasp we see here in the tropics of OZ, they look quite fly like.
C&C welcome.

Great capture and I'm sure we don't have them in the North of
England either They are very interesting looking wasps.

Thanks for your comments my friend. Seems it is like a fly, I did searched through Google and bugs database. Finally, I found that it is not a wasp, but it is a Stilt-Legged Fly (Taeniaptera trivittata). I'm sorry for the nomenclature mistake...arghhhh!

Hahaha...I think the droplet was from the male...may be saliva because there was no any droplet at the beginning. Suddenly the male excreted it in the middle of it....hehehehe
