Well I use it to stack long exposures with clouds, but thats similar to the whole fountain/water use.

Does the K10D have the 'Auto EV Adjust' option in the Mutlti-exposure setting? (Sorry I have the K20D) If it does then it is possible to do something like this https://www.pentaxuser.com/photo/user-7917/drive-4355 and overlap different images.

The only other advantage which I have found is that if you stack Multiple exposure, you can reduce the effective ISO of the photo.

As as an example, both of these were shot at the same ISO(cant remember which, sorry) Using the 'fill light' setting in Photoshop it brightened up the shadows making the noise alot more visible.

Thinking along these lines, it can be used to expand the dynamic range of a photo. If you under exposure with say 9 stacked images, you can really recover a huge amount of detail in the shadows while keeping the highlights with the under exposure.

I find the size of the K20D and most DSLR's these days to big to consider holding in my hand and using the LCD like you do with a digital compact.

And while the K20D/GX20's Live view is really really basic, I love it. It keep me out of the mud while trying to look through the viewfinder when its mounted on a low tripod. And checking horizons with the grid is uselful too.

Thats all i need, but i know if i did proper macros then i probably wouldnt bother with.

On the K10/K20 you dont have to use any menus, the bracketing button is above the menu button. While holding it down the front dial changes the number of photos to take(off, 3, 5) the back dial changes the exposure differences (0.5 to 2) Then just take your 3 or 5 photos.

A small update

I bought a 50mm 2.0f A prime about a month ago. which I like, though personally 50mm is a bit long for me.

So have just bought a battered looking(well cosmetically used) 28mm 2.8f from ebay for 20euro I quite enjoy the manual focusing.

The 50mm came with a metal strong metal lens hood, which I love so much because it save my K20D and the 50mm from a fall out of the back seat of the car, as someone pulled the jacket it was wrapped in out. The lens hood bent in a little bit but took all the damage and shock.

So I guess i got lucky!

OK, i was just checking Im sure you ll find someone wholl have more info. Personally I love my long exposures, so its one of the bonus's of IR to me

The K20/GX20 does seem alot less sensitive from my brief tests. In the meantime i would keep searching the main pentax.com forum.

Have you already tried an R72 or similar IR filter? because I know my K100D had a weak IR filter. I was very happy of the Results with my Hoya R72 screw on filter, though I did have to resort to using a tripod to keep the ISO down and the aperture at an optimum setting.

Other than that im of no real use. Does doing the conversion reduce the need for longer shutter speeds?

I bought some cheap DigiPads from fleabay for my K100D so i can sell it all nice and clean. Will let you know how they are.
