Im pleased with the ISO performance up to 800, above that is a bit noisy for me, but i will see how they change with the noise reduction.

^ Ive also come up from the K100D and its been a very nice step indeed.
I agree with all of your points. its a great camera and it feels even better in my hands than my k100d.

Its larger buffer helps so alot it feels so much more responsive than the 100d, which i love. Much more enjoyable to use now.

I recently saw how feature pack the canon 5D mk II liveview is, as well as Sonys. But never the less its helped me out already when on a tripod and at an awkward height. Which is all i need it for.

I would keep an eye out from some 2nd hand K10D's. - there are some amazing deals on ebay and the like.

Im almost tempted to say my mk1 isnt a very good copy. Though it is only very recently, just before I bought my K20D that I started noticing it..

I looked at my samples for 55mm @ f8, and its almost the same story as f5.6
no sure, and im no expert at any of this, so maybe my copy is a bit dodgy, who knows

The original 18-55mm is amazingly close to the Mrk II at the centre. but it drops off a huge amount after that.

The 2nd crop @ 55mm looks like its out of focus, but its from the same image as the one above it.

Hope that helps someone.. Might even do a quick test on my K100D to see if it would be a worthwhile 'upgrade'

I might do some tests tomorrow, since i havent sold my K100D and kit yet and have just got my K20D.

Though which camera would you prefer to see the lenses on?

Maybe theyre based off these but their speeds are much higher. Ultra II are meant to be 15mb read/write and the ultra III's are 30mb read/write. probably dont always work at the speed. but compared to the no name brands and most medium grade cards.

I bought a cheap no name brand one in a rush before going on holiday and its super slow. Unless they are high quality and are rated at a different speed ie the Ultra's. Class 6 are fairly vital.

Thankfully my new K20D has a nice big buffer, but on my K100D the really slow card caused huge slow downs. Took 3 bracked photos recently and the camera stalled after the 2nd cause it was writing data. On the K20 you can keep shooting but the SD light stays on for ages afterwards as it moves the files from the Buffer to the SD card.

RR well i wouldnt recommend using the 'upgrade' option from vista to windows 7. So you cant really revert back to vista if you do this. If you get a serial key which is easy now that they are public, the beta will expire in August.

And your are not going to want to buy a license for a beta operating system
not that you can, but ull have to wait for full release and reinstall it.

to avoid any problems i installed it on a new harddrive, or you could put it on a new partition. Ive had no problems with it- apart from my creative Audigy 2 cutting out every so often, so im using my onboard sound atmo. - thankfully all the vista drivers work for W7. Installation is super simple and quick - but i dont know about updating from a previous version RR. I wouldnt personally just in case

depends all the 4GB's ive seen lately have been nicely priced. if your going to be doing any sort of action shots, it might be worth getting some of Sandisks Ultra II's, cause they re a bit faster than the class 6 ones. Ive just ordered another 4gb one myself.

Avoid all class 2's and 4's. class 6 are fine though.

the only difference is sd only goes up to 2gb and sdhc is for anything larger.

I should have mine tomorrow? btw, how long do these batteries take to charge?
