Did quick one shot test between the II and my SMC A 50mm f2 that I just got this morning.

Two crops here :

Far right

Both 18-55's had excellent centres, the weak spot being the edges which the II does a whole load better.

The II is a really great little kit lens

rparmar I dont have much need to sign up at the moment, im always looking at stuff there but never need to comment.

bought it from SRS, postage was 40pounds but it was still the cheapest place i could find. Didnt bother looking locally, and the irish camera sites are insanely overpriced.

Im just praying that my cashback is ok,

Cheers for those few, glad to hear nice things about the Helios 44
And the 135mm Sonnar looks great

So i take it from what ive read that i should get the genuine pentax m42 adapter? Anyone seen it for a good price anywhere?

I probably broke some rule about upgrading to a K20D in a hurry and not worrying about lenses
So at the moment I only have the Kit lens and my DA 50-200mm.

Basically Im just looking for some interesting and cheap lenses to play around with, until I decide to splash out again.

I just got outbid tonight by a few euro's on a 50mm A F2.0.
Which Ill probably look for another one, for me the F1.7 isnt worth the extra money.

Im also keeping my eye on a 28mm F2.8, and also the Helios-44M just cause it looks interesting. Though I do prefer my wider angles.

Ive found out about loads of lenses on the pentax.com forum, but since I dont have an account there(yet?) I thought I would ask here.

So if any of you have any recommendations for any lenses that you think are good deals and worth investigating that would be great!

Cheers,
Conal

I dont have any experience going from film to digital so ill just answer the questions that i can

1. Ive only taken about 200 photos so far, ive not had it long but battery is still showing full.
2. I find the ISO easy to change, its only 2 button presses away.

You press the FN button on the back, i marked it with red. Then you get to this menu, and you use the right arrow to select ISO option. and then you get a drop down list that you can choose your ISO from.
Daniel mentioned the other ways of setting up ISO.

3. Ive got no experience atmo with manual lenses or different focus screen but i found this link very useful. http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/46978-my-k20d-katzeye-...

Hope thats some way helpful
