No, no, no... all wrong, all wrong...

Pentax owners are Connoisseurs

I'll just put on my cravate, cardigan and slippers, listen to an old vinyl record playing on the gramophone while I sit back in my whicker chair smoking a pipe

And I am very happy with what I have....as I suspect that most of us on here are...

I think that Pentax's priority would be an upgrage of the K20D to compete with the EOS 40D and D300. Improvements in AF and fps are called for amongst the general community...

The rumour about the FF Samsung has come from Samsung itself and does not imply that Pentax is developing a similar camera, and it's just talk at the moment, just talk, conjecture and rumour.

Now... while established users are busy enjoying their cameras and photography can you just crawl under your stone from where you came?

Hi,

To the OP..

"Canon was the first!"

Actually Contax was the first with a Full frame DSLR..

..and G is right, this 'we must have FF DSLR's' is a very well worn-out and tedious issue

cheers Steve.
Two things strike me....

Just what is full frame anyway? Large format users would define 10" x 8" as full frame....

We are in the digital age, so there are new parameters...the old ones don't apply to digital

Plus I was watching a programme on discovery the other night, about the top five all-time rally cars... top one was the Audi Quattro of 1981, the first with all-wheel drive and the first with a turbocharged engine...

Saab were rallying 99 EMS turbos and 16v EMSs in the 1970s...

Just goes to show you that when someone makes a statement that is plainly wrong it is still accepted...

The MZ-D, the digital MZ-S....although it wasn't marketed that would have been announced at about the same time as the digital Contax

I found it hard work looking through the review.....

I prefer to enjoy my photography, but what I want is a picture that pleases me and I don't care what ricehigh thinks the camera should give me.

Providing the Metz 45CL-4, Vivitar 285 of AF500FTZ work in some way with the K10D whenever I get around to buying one is all that matters to me
What if I have to use manual with the Metz - fantastic

Quite honestly, I'm very surprised at how many have taken the bait. This person seems to be nothing more than a Pentax film camera using wind-up merchant. Some people just will not learn and move on. The 645D is probably the answer to his rantings but I doubt he/she will stump up the required capital to own one.
Remember he is a Proffesor.....

He has a Z-1 which by the sounds of it he's had for 15 years (came out in 1992 I believe), seems not to have invested in newer models such Z-1p or MZ-S....

And expects Pentax to satisfy his every whim...

He must originate from Newark

Needs also to get facts right...

I believe Nikon have stated they won't be doing FF, the Olympus sensor is smaller than APS-C

There is a trend for things to get smaller and smaller, and as some of the others do say, 6MP is adequate for most people's needs (gives satisfactory 10x8 prints), so a APS-C 10-12 MP will be more than sufficient for the majority of people....

I think this thread has only served to wind up people....

I think paying 300-350 for a new 24-90 if you can find it, it has a better range and only 1/2-1 1/2 stops darker, might be better.

All the 2.8 FA lenses and some of the telephotos I have seen s/h have always looked worse for wear...

I have beeen looking at the more recent pictures I have taken with the 24-90 lens and they have been crisp

I won't write off K10D or K1D just yet, my *ist D has only just gone over the 6000 pictures mark so there is plenty of life in that camera yet (the DL has just gone over 1000, the Canon G5 is way behind despite the fect I have had that camera the longest time)...

So I will make up my mind when I see the spec of the K1D. What I noticed how many things were improved on from the K100D to K10D....

I enjoy the argument about saving the money for lenses, there may be some logic in it, just like getting the cheapest air fare for the holiday rather than paying extra for extra legroom (oh! you get to spend more money when you get there...), my friend went BA world traveller, I went WT Plus (50% extra), guess who was most relaxed (plus I get extra miles) and the extra room to cope with my knackered knee....
