I have heard so much about this software....

been using RSE for the past few months, quite happy with it, but I used Photo Laboratory last night on some photos and quite pleasantly surprised as to how bad it wasn't..

I guess there's no free version at the moment, judging by the links I've come across, I would like to see how good it is before deciding whether to stick with RSE or using something else

Any pointers?

Pete

I am waiting for the DA* 16-50 lens to come out and then doing the calculations.

Besides I am one happy chappy with my *ist D, MZ-S, Z-1p and Z-1....

Thankfully I received my AP and I thought it was a fairly well written article....compared to the one in Practical Pornography...

Steers me to getting K10D, except for those lingering rumours about the K1D

Seriously...

I would want

MZ-S Styling and ergonomics
The same chip Nikon have in the D2Xs (CMOS 12MP)
Integrated battery grip (not separate - I have big hands) and a flash socket..

What I would love

DA* 16-400 f1.4 within the same dimensions as the 16-45

I have a Canon G5 for point and shoot stuff, and it's quite good even if it is the 'Dark side'

The other non-Pentax is the Mamiya 645 Pro, fabulous thing. Chose this over the Pentax because you could remove the prism and put on a waist level viewfinder, plus interchangeable backs. Mamiya-Sekor glass is also wonderful.

All my SLRs are Pentax (D,DL,MZ-S,Z-1,Z-1p)

They sound like FA lenses - PKAF2 mount but maybe the limited functionality refers to the fact that new lenses with in-built motors will soon be coming and these utilise the connector that was formerly for the powerzoom functions on the old Z cameras.....so if you have DA* then you should have full functionality on K10D, but with other lenses "limited functionality'....

Just a guess

On my Galapagos trip last year with Experience Seminars (sole Pentax users amongst the Chester supporters of the camera world) and we met a group of American birdwatchers several times....

They thought that we spent all our time talking about lenses

We couldn't believe that once they'd seen an exotic bird once, they couldn't be bothered if there was another chance... they'd 'ticked the box'

The Takumar 135mm f2,5. I have one of those - seriously underutilised

Nice pics, I will have to see if I can surpass them next October with mine

If I had to buy one it will be:

Quote:
DA* 60-250/4 ED (IF) - Available April/May
The Sigma 100-300 was bought mainly for all the other cameras, but this DA* will go on the eventual K10D/K1D purchase.
