Very nice series! I would not have cropped away parts of the beak but looking at your series here I find it was the right thing to do.
First one is probably the best of the series in terms of composition.

Not so keen on the bokeh, makes the background a bit too busy. Maybe by blurring the background a bit you could emphasize the main subject a bit more.

Well done!

Wonderful set and I do like the conversion. I do agree with others, though, that a bit of dodging and burning would finish them off nicely.

Your conversion does give them something special and I find them really pleasing.

Wonderful machine! And the red is beautiful as well.
If these are taken with the 10-20 mm it seems to be a little crowded in that hall. Would like to see a full shot in a nice English countryside...

Thanks for the flowers, chaps.

Peter, I think you should look around photo sites on the WEB a bit more.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, but one of the best ever seen... doubt it.

Thanks no less,
Prieni

I was thinking more along the lines of a foot size reduction
No no, my feet are the right size, I just have the head of a midget...
Come to think of it: When I look at my avatar it has been different in the past.

Thanks guys,

it was a fun shoot as well. Had to put the scales on bricks to get it high enough to slip the camera with fisheye beneath. Used the self timer to trigger (IR remote doesn't work with wireless flash). The time was enough, though, to climb back on the scales and look distraught.

Haven't posted any shots for a while...

Had a session at the garage back door recently, just before the 'heat wave' took them away.
All with K-5 and Sigma 105 mm EX DG Macro and hand held AF540FGZ for lighting.

Nice set! My favourite also is #3 and I also thought of a sculpture rather than a flag. (And there wouldn't be a white flag flying in Perth, would it?)
