Having may be bought into the Pentax system some years ago and seeing how the digital market has progressed over that time would you then still buy into the Pentax system if you were starting again. I ask this question as I see a few selling off there equipment and moving onto other systems.

I was always happy with the mk1 kit lens but I think I read the mk2 is even better as it was brought out to cope with the extra pixels in the k20 when it came out I belive. I wonder if it offers any better performance on a k100 d or k10 over the mk1 ? sure someone can answer that one.

When you say the 18/55 kit do you mean the mk1 or mk2 lens Cliff I realy like the look of these photos took with it.

Thanks John for your input I normaly set the camera on auto mode and then veiw the histogram and look at the photo. I then play arouond in manual mode around the settings the camera has read in auto mode. I have never used a tripod in this park as there can be lots of people buzzing around and also the park in the centre of town so dont relish the thought of luggy alot of kit around with me in a busy city ctr, but I do take in what you have said. As for focus I think I probably uused the first flower in the 2nd flower bed as my point of focus.
Camera settings are f,11 at 250 iso 400.

You realy need to see the photos at a good size but while pic 1 looks crisp and sharp throught the flowers in pic 2 look a little lacking in detail or as said soft.
