My nephew bought the camera on my behalf on Saturday at the price stated by me £280. It has cost me an extra £7 to have it sent to my home.
Ian PS I think there were a few left at Newcastle.

It depends what you want.

Sue used her Pentax 18-250mm extesnively and has just taken some great shots of damselflies with it. In fact, she won last night's ADAPS competition with one of them.
Taking into consideration Gwyn's remark that 28/300 wasnt good on her camera Im just wondering what camera you had when you and your wife used the 18/250 John and wonder if the Tamron would work as well. Congratulations by the way pretty impressive result there well done.

I have heard some good reports re these two lenses in the past fron others as well. I have the Tamron 70/300 which is a steal for the money but obviously not one you can get the most from.

Can I ask the question if you had to recomend a lens that you found very good as an all rounder what would you recomend buying. I have the Sigma 17/70 that I find very nice for every day use and is on my camera pretty much all the time.
