This is usualy the preferd method of stance to take the photo very often as well though some take there photos front on.

I would be very tempted also to go for the Nikon D 300 as the price range is on the mark and have read some very good reports on it. I also like the feed back concerning how well the camera copes with noise at high ISO which would be a great benifit for me at inside dog shows where flash is not realy an option if your taking photos from the ring side.Will have to wait and see how well the new k7 does at the high ISO settings now.

I take a lot of photos like this at dog shows I attend but am always looking to improve can you offer any hints or tips as to which way you would go about taking photos like this. What lens would you favour what settings would you use any help would be more than welcome.

How do you find the noise level at the high end of the iso Simone lovely shot by the way.
