I found the Pentax codec its for Vista .. tried to install it and it failed part way through probably cos it was for vista and i got XP.. I really cannot find the Pentax codecs for XP so if you do find you have time I would really appreciate it as I used raw today and want to get them into my Elements..
I know there is a long winded way to do it but I am not that desperate yet ..
Just a thought would it be on my k10 disk that came with camera?

Hi All,
I am really confused..
I have a K10d + elements 5.0 +camera Raw 4.6.
I have just bought a new PC and reinstalled all of the software etc.. I have obviously done something different as I used to be able to import files from my card reader/hard drive in PEF format.
When I try to do it now I cannot import PEF ..
Anyone know what I done wrong or what I need to do so they will get imported please.
Please keep it simple
Pete

You will not be disappointed in the K10d .. I had 2 joint 1st's in a local competition tonight ( just pulling my own chain slightly there)

Welcome to the forum - something else you will not be disapointed with

Hi Andy,

I am in Plymouth and also have a small studio. If I was a bit closer I would be happy to lend you a guiding hand.. I am not a teacher by no means but I do have a lot of experience with K10 and the ist DL so showing you the basic principles shouldn't be too difficult..

I am on about visiting the exe estuary a few times in the near future so perhaps if we met up I could help..

*EDIT* There are a couple of good clubs around you and as someone says don't get intimidated with the canon and nikon crowd.. It's quite often I pan them in club competitions.

Thank you John .. You really are a mine of information.

At the risk of sounding pedantic (which I'm not being) Why would you need to know all of that information (which I can't get my head around any how ) And what sort of situations would it be used in please.

Just a quick note .. Is the printer capable of printing right up to the edge ... some aren't

The photos were taken on a zoom lens john so you may be right there ... It just confused me as I would have thought if the f-stop was set at F8 it would not differ.

I notice on my exif data on the photos I have put in my portfolio, that there is an f-stop and also aperture value.. Could someone enlighten me and tell me what the difference is please. I thought the F-stop was the aperture value.. :
