Now I know that its not the greatest shot, but this is the first Goldfinch I have seen here and I was determined to get a shot. Nowhere near as good as Scott's but I am still trying to entice them into my garden off a neighbours aerial! Spent at least 2 hour either freezing to dealth in the garden or waiting by an upstairs window trying to get a shot of a Bluetit that has now started to visit the garden. But did it show up........

Nicely done. What lens for this one?
Hi Don,

It was a Sigma 105mm macro. I am still practising with it.

Very nice photo and the dof is great... don't know the bug though
No I had never come across one before but I found it on a British Beetle identification website, so they must be fairly common.

I use recargable batteries in my 200D when I go on safari. I use 2700 mah and no lower than 2450. On my last trip I took 5500 shots in 12 days and I think I only had to change the batteries twice with the camera on continuous shoot and we were out from 6am till 6pm almost every day.

I have only used flash on a image once and that is the first shot below. Its a picture of one of the 4 Genets that used to visit the dinning room of the lodge we were staying at in Tanzania. Can you please tell me if the shot is OK? I have had to use my Corel Paint Shop Pro One Stop Photo Fix on it first.

The second shot was taken while we were travelling back to the airport and another member of the group was shotting pictures through the open window as we were travelling (at about 60 mph). I like the shot but would like to know what if anything I could have done to make the image (particularly the people's faces sharper.

Hi Jacko and welcome.

Looked at your portfolio, you have some lovely pictures. If you do upgrade to DSLR I am sure you will love the results.
