I use the Op/Tech across my chest. My problem isn't that my camera is portly but rather I am portly. Some would say fat. It's comfortable and I like being able to move my camera to ride in front of my stomache, at my side, or behind me depending on the conditions. For me, I wish Op/Tech made a strap a few inches longer.

I've tried other strps that were highly recommended and always came back. I have tried the new fad, the sling straps, but I've seen a few tourists here using them and they didn't appeal to me.

So, Sony has made a camera without an optical viewfinder. It will be interesting to see how it does.

I downloaded Lightroom3 and so far I like it. I have to confess, I barely remember LR2 since I've been using the LR3 beta. My first impression is that it is faster than LR2, though, and clearly faster than the beta.

I agree. I'm using FastPictureViewer codecs but I can't get any updates.

In six years and a lot of cards with all of the latest being SDHC, I've had one fail and it failed quite soon after I bought it. I'm assuming it was defective from the start.

As an old guy, it still amazes me that a guy in Oaxaca, Mexico, could get help from someone in Norway so promptly. Amazing.

I shoot with a K20D set to Av mode. I've set the e-dial to adjust ISO. But, when I turn the camera on it defaults to Auto ISO and I have to reset the ISO using the wheel. If I use the FN button and set it to ISO 100 it stays there until I reset it.

I've read the manual and gone crazy fiddling with the camera.

Any suggestion for manual ISO as the default?

I must be the only person with a budget. I had the K10D. When the K7 came out I considered it and bought a K20D. Video and Live View don't interest me and the price difference was significant for me. So far, no regrets.

Since I started with the IstD, I am rather hooked on having two dials for adjustment. I'm sure I could adapt but I'd rather not.

For me, the K20D paired with Lightroom3 beta works well.

I did something similar. That's why I have lenses sitting in a drawer that I never use. My biggest blunder was macro. I don't do macro. I don't need to do macro. I should have waited until I had a problem with not being able to get that close-up shot. Had I done that, I'd have two fewer lenses.

On the other hand, I did sometimes chafe because I want to go wider. I finally bought a wider lens and while I don't use it often, when I do use it, it's great. That purchase I'm happy with.

So, unless you just want the "perfect set of lenses" to put in a display and show your friends, don't do it.

I do tend to read manuals, more than once, so I take the CD with the manual to a copy center and pay them $12 to print and bind the manual.
