I really hope to do more, it was an amazing evening, although I didn't really follow the play very much...

I was invited by the theater manager not to stay under the stage, but instead up above the audience, so quite far from the stage.
Shot the whole play (3 hours) with 50-135 and 16-50. The 50-135 was absolutely perfect, and I would get a half body shot at 135mm.
THe photo represents the scene of the prison, where (a bit like in Chicago) the girl is incarcerated, and she's desperately singing behind bars. THe whole theater was completely pitch black, but for the spotlight on the actress. I have quite a few shots from the series, but this one I composed thinking of the thirds, including the amazing shadow of the scenic prison bars.

Good luck with that then.
Are you going to be the only photographer there?
We will all be happy to comment on the photos.
For now on the one posted on your gallery. (and again, sorry to be harsh)
- Its overexposed, and too hot in most areas.
- Direct flash was used, and this is really not flattering
- the colour temperature and balance are off.
- the pose is ok, but you're using a wide focal lenght and it doesn't do justice to the subjects
- its over-saturated
- the background is so close and bright that detracts from the portrait.
- You should use a wide aperture when shooting portraits, this helps to get an out of focus background, and softer feel to the photo.
- you never want to cut hands, feet and limbs in general. This is not an absolute rule, and many fashion photographers do it. A wedding shoot should always include whole bodies, mainly if you are a beginner and are not framing according to a particular method.
- don't use the onboard flash - it gives red-eye and its too harsh for portraits.
Is this enough for a start?
Good luck Shane,

I might be sad, but I have never found a shop where I was happier to spend my money. Actually I did. When I was a kid and I used to collect football stickers, and once a week I had 500 Lire to buy a little packet of 5 stickers at the newsagents. I loved that moment....
Ehi Chris, can you get some football stickers in stock??? PLEEEEEEEAAAAASEEEEEEEE

loved that shot, and voted for it
Actually, I think you've uploaded quite a few from the show - which was a shame in my opinion, because this one shot was incredible, whilst some of the others were not as good.
Nonetheless, congratulations, amazing amazing capture.
