Its definitely not the IQ, that is just stunning.

Various reasons really. First of all, if used wide open one needs to be careful because the DOF is really very shallow, and (like with a 50 f1.4) when shooting you need to do so carefully and attentively.

I would most of the times stop down to around 2.8, or 3.2. And at that aperture I have little difference between the 31, and the DA*16-50. Now, I've done plenty of comparisons between the two lenses (look somewhere in the forum) and have found that there is little difference between the two; the Zoom is more versatile - although quite a bit slower.

My style of shooting is also a very important component. I tend to like teles, and really enjoy shooting with the 50-135 and the 200. I don't shoot many landscapes, and if I have to go wide, then I will probably be walking around, and therefore will find more comfortable to use the Zoom rather than a fixed lens.

the field of view is great for street photography which is what I enjoy the most. But unfortunately it is becoming more and more difficult to go up to some random person in the street and take their photo. The solution is either to shoot very wide and from the waist - or to shoot long, and from far away. Unfortunately the 31mm is difficult to use in these situations.

I believe these are only personal subjective reasons, and I really wished I could find more time, and the right place to shooot with this amazing lens. It doesn't seem to be happening any time soon though, and whilst the 50mm is a commodity not worth selling, the 31 makes a very big difference in my pocket...

I've been pondering on this for months now, and I just haven't used it enough to justify keeping it.

I know I might regret it, but I feel terrible not using it, and having it sit on the shelf is just a waste of an amazing photographic tool.

I gave myself 1 year to decide, I used it last (seriously) in Istambul last May, and since, only sporadically took it off the shelf...

I am actually in the same quandary as Danny with my 31 ltd...

I've thought about this for a while, and still haven't decided. I haven't been photo-busy recently though, and therefore the little beauty is getting even less use than usual. which is sad.

On the other hand I've noticed how much I enjoyed using another prime i got recently, the DA*200, with which i took some really awesome photos in Florence, last time i was there. Perfect focal lenght for street photography. I didn't even think to bring the 31mm, i just can't find the right niche for its use, be it portraits, street photography, Its just so easily replaceable by the 16-50...

Oh, i haven't done it yet, nor have looked at the hack properly - I was just reporting another user's success!

Finally somebody tested the option of hacking into the k7/k20 system, and adjust the af - resulting in a cumulative adjustment also for the in-camera af adjust measure.

I've asked the very same question about a year ago when I wanted to change my af on my lenses, and Im very pleased I now know its possible, and effective.

(Remember that it only works if all your lenses front/back focus by a certain margin; If they vary in the +/- then a hacked af adjustment will completely throw off one of the lenses.)

seeing that you want to move away from them, they are probably (like any other company) going to give you trouble!

Look in the terms and ocnditions docs from when you bought the domain name, and see what are the terms of the contract.
