Danny,

I agree with everything you say.

More than that; I would love to see Pentax competing with every aspect of the photographic market. But because this does not happen - as you say - Different tools for different jobs. - .

What I argue is that - unless you are a professional photographer that makes a living out of these specific requirements - that 95% that you mention is a pretty relevant percentage, and pentax shouldn't be trashed for under-achieving in a market that certainly doesn't see it as one of the major players.
And back to the point - I struggle to see the insurmountable difficulties that a hobbyist like Amin, or Myself would find with a camera like the K7.

Dear Amin.

I can't be bothered replying again. You either don't want to understand, or just don't get it.

It might be my english, by I doubt it is.

Nonetheless, have a good day.

Stefan,

I can see the results between the K20 and K7 - but remember that the K7 uses the same sensor with a new, much faster image processing engine. So I can perfectly understand why they have comparable results and the K20 be even a bit better.

Regarding the Kx the answer is simple - 1 its a completely new sensor - 2
K-x
12.4 million effective pixels
3.3 MP/cm² pixel density

K7
14.6 million effective pixels
4.0 MP/cm² pixel density

So IMO it goes back to the density argument, and the fact that with 14 (or 15 or 18 mp) we've hit the wall of pixel performance.

Nope, dont think you are right there. You can shoot with an APS-C sensor and get pretty decent results at even bigger than A2 prints.
I think I am completely right in what I've written. Perhaps read it again and make sense of it. I know that you can print any size with any sensor on any camera. And I have printed A2 or A1 from a K10 before. What I said is something very different: If your job (See JOB not HOBBY) requires you to often print in large sizes, THEN you need a different camera from the K7, or the 7D. IF that's your job requirement. IF on the other hand you're a hobbyist that once in a while prints large sizes, then the IQ of the K7 (or K20, or D300, or 50D) is absolutely fine for that purpose, and NO HIGHER ISO PERFORMANCE IS NEEDED.

I did not say iso performance was POOR on K7, I said it could be better.
I already replied to this quite clearly, and without starting any misunderstandings - please stop quoting single sentences pulled out of a paragraph I write -

I wrote

THe fact that the performance hasn't increased from the K20 to the K7 is simply because there are limits to the performance on an APC sensor, and at this pixel density you are not going to get cleaner results. Want better results, have less pixels, or a bigger sensor, with far lower density.
Now to explain my words:

Amin, I don't know what type of photography you do, but if you think that the K7 is poor on high iso performance, then you must do some very very special photography
I don't know what type of photography you do. But unless you are a professional sports photographer (speed), or a professional fashion photographer (absolute IQ), I cannot (and don't want to) believe that your needs as a photographer exceed the performance of the camera we are talking about. Maybe to prove me wrong, you would be so kind as to show us what type of photograph shot at 12800 ISO with clean results would have not been achievable with a camera like the K7.

Personal decisions can only be respected, so if you've decided to choose one camera over another, this is absolutely fine, and I hope you will achieve what you need with your new camera. What I think is wrong is making a case against a pentax camera when this is based on nothing - see high ISO performance compared to competition brands -

I cannot understand the need for higher ISO performance in a pro-spec consumer camera like the K7. Amin, I don't know what type of photography you do, but if you think that the K7 is poor on high iso performance, then you must do some very very special photography.

THe fact that the performance hasn't increased from the K20 to the K7 is simply because there are limits to the performance on an APC sensor, and at this pixel density you are not going to get cleaner results. Want better results, have less pixels, or a bigger sensor, with far lower density.

I think that the high ISO issue is only the next scapegoat after the pixel race, in an era of constantly un-satisfied moaning customers that MUST complain about something, all the time.
If there's no light, there's no photography. If there's light, then learn how to use your camera properly, and high ISO won't be an issue.

But this is only my opinion

Maybe its a bit moved, was shot at 1/60 ISO400. But only in the slightest I think, and the eyes are really very sharp - mind you basically no PP at all.

It wasn't really staged, she only noticed I took it after I did, and the following in the series are definitely not as good!!!

Great offer on this Cash back deal

"£50 cashback is available on purchases of £650
£100 cashback is available on purchases of £1000
£150 cashback is available on purchases of £1500
£250 cashback is available on purchases of £2000"

Considering that in order to spend £2000 on pentax equipment one would have to buy a K7 + 2 lenses, or K7 + DA*300 or 60-250 or 31ltd ....

I've never spent so much in one go, and I really think that there are very few people out there that might benefit more than £100 on this offer.

And can somebody explain to me why, why why why I ALWAYS buy something expensive just 2 weeks before the offer begins??? I got the DA*200 2 weeks ago, and can't get any cashback on that. WHY? WHY WHYYYYYYYY

Yes John, I completely agree, which is why I have never done this.

Problem is that every time I have sent equipment back to pentax for this type of small complicated very detailed (see anal - N.B. hope this is not too foul language) change in settings, they have always been completely useless. And the fact that I want my equipment to work to perfection with very small adjustments, simply cannot be understood by the 1 technician that has 30/40 cameras to fix every day, with real problems like a broken screen, or electronic failure.

THese are issues that could only be solved by a person that is YES technically capable, but also very very keen on ameliorating the present situation. and the technicians at pentax are probably not this person...

(BTW, i've sent my FA50mm and K10 for adjustment twice, and both times came back in exactly the same shape.... )
