I am afraid that many haven't understood the theme of the competition. Or maybe I haven't.

Allright.
I put the DA200 on the K10, and took a few test shots. Very high contrast, probably the worst possible for a telephoto. I shot a tree branch, against the sun (only 5 degrees above).
DId 2 test shots - at f8, and f4. The f8 shot is ISO400, the f4 ISO 100.
(I shot f4, and ISO100. Didnt go to f2.8, because shutter was already 1/4000, so couldn't go any faster, and overexposing obviously makes it more likely to show CA, or PF.)
All shot in RAW - no correction was done, and saved in Jpeg immediately.

Here the f8 shot.

And a 100% crop of the very top of the frame - closest to the sun - so very high contrast.

And the f4.

And the details at f4. (This might be a bit out of focus, and it surely is my mistake. The point of focus is not easy on a branch.)

Beautiful, like beautiful is your whole PPG gallery.

Shame, it would have done very well in the 'street portraits' competition last vweek!

Do I REALLY have to???

Might give it a try when I have some free time. Next year.

oh, and I have the K7, not the K20

Maybe its the K10 and DA* combo that doesn't work well. I haven't actually put the 200 on my K10 yet, but only shot with the K7. And I keep on reading in disbelief what you are writing!

Oh,and mine was used too, for around £600.. good condition tho!

Peter, I'm sorry, but I've had this lens for 3 months now, and have not had one instance where PF was noticeable.

I haven't seen the comments on other forum, and you might not want to believe test charts (not sure which is more reliable..). My personal experience is a very positive one, and I think you should gain some experience with the lens in order to give such a judgment on it.

Not only, but to get back to the OP, the combination of 200 + TC is incredibly more flexible than a 300 mm prime, which will only be used for wildlife or similar. Not to mention the fact that the 200+TC is still an f4 combination, and therefore there should be very minimal loss when compared to the 300.

put them both on charge until the green LED goes off. THey will be fully charged and work for long hours allowing you to shoot all day (or almost) without depleting.

Yep! you should've done!

Actually the reviews said the very opposite. Being the DA*, the same optically as the FA* of the older generation, both these 200 score higher on MTF charts ...

(Will look for some data and try to post it later!)
