I'd be wary of cheap ones of these. They're basically doubled up polarisers and you can get a pretty bad X effect with cheap ones.

I happen to have a different HDMI monitor but the process is much the same I think - once you plug it in your back LCD goes dark and the monitor shows the info that would usually be shown there. Just think of it as an external screen, so you can use it for liveview, review etc.

Yeah, imo a snorkelling camera. Which is ok, though the snorkelling units I've bought from Pentax in the past all broke whilst on holiday. I basically didn't bother buying another because the pic quality without external light is mediocre at best (fine for tourists I suppose but not if you're a photography nerd). Here, this is an example. Interesting enough pic but I'm personally after better quality being a photography geek. I'm pretty sure I remember that camera having an onboard flash, was about 3m down.

I do a bit of diving and would buy this to potter around in Cornwall underwater. Only thing I'm unclear of is whether there's an external underwater strobe/light fittable. Even at 5m down an extra light source is pretty important.

Yes and no. DFS on its own works well but it's bad when it forces you to sit and wait for a camera to do its own internal thing like K7 does, it means the photographer can't take another pic during that time. It can't be turned off in K7 for exposures that are longer than 30s at all (cen be for 30s and shorter). It means take 30 minute pic, wait 20 minute, then be allowed to take another 30 min pic. Frustrating. This is why I had to buy a K5.

Fwiw, for trails the way round it is to use an intervalometer device and take lots of 30s exposures with DFS off and stack them. Works for trails cause you're faking it but that obviously won't get you single long exposure deep sky astronomy shots as they need to be one shot.

The juddering is kind of normal, I've seen this across many sites. Bottom line is that some browsers just don't do scrolling as smoothly as others, and some hardware does it unsmoothly. I personally try to keep image file sizes down as that seems to help but your mileage may vary.

It's a good photography portfolio and nice clean brochure, looks like squarespace does a good package. It may get a little lost on the internet though and you may struggle for visitor without a lot of constant promotion (which I take it this post is part of) because there's very little text for search engines to hook onto. Fwiw, I get about 250 different visitors a day to my site, largely because it is deliberately word heavy and so performs very well in Google.

The topnav greys are a bit dark but not the end of the earth, I can still read it. That said the about page is very hard to read, as is the blog. I did expect to be able to click on images and see a bigger lightbox version but it's not set up that way.

With websites, it's always useful to keep a goal in the back of your head. If it is for exposure and marketing, then you'll want to add content that attracts people, like 'how I did it' for every photo and maybe a romancart ecommerce link to finished mounted prints.

Ebay is very good on things like this. As everyone has said, open a dispute and stick to your guns. I've had 5 or so cases over the years and been fully refunded every time.
