Good stuff, looking good . Though, a little bit out of focus at the back does help give your subject some 3D feel

it's called "remarketing". It's a good technique for marketers although the downside is that it keeps following you after you buy the product

I now have 5 bodies: 3 Pentax, 2 Canon. 1 Canon was a hand-me-down from a deceased relative, and the other I bought to be able to use MPE65. The Pentaxes are my original K7, a K5 and a K3ii. I bought K7 and K5, Pentax gave me K3ii. I keep the K3ii on my microscope the whole time in order to be able to use pixelshift - vital for microscopy work because it enables EFSC, electronic front curtain shutter. K7 is perfectly ok for my horizontal rig' and K5, originally bought for its high iso capability, now happily lives on my vertical rig. I've considered buying K1 many times, again for EFSC, but everytime I consider it I look at what I've got and think I really just don't need it (as much fun as it might be to own a shiny new trinket!)

If the images have recorded properly it sounds like a fault with the monitor. You could try resetting the camera to the factory defaults, just in case some special effect has been accidentally turned on.
Good advice

Yeah, looks like multiple photos to me too. You can tell by the length of some of the trails that one exposure had to be several seconds (I'd guess 5s). The second exposure was much shorter (1/15s?) because the figures are slightly unsharp, indicative of long/non freezing shutter speed. Clever shot!

Like Davidwozhere - acquiring a bellows. I had no particular interest in macro before that, but with that bellows, I won a Flickr group macro competition. Then I started playing with different lenses, lighting, apparatus, made a website about it and I haven't really looked back since then.

I spent an hr there, most of it listening to a Theta presentation but also getting to know the main Ricoh/Pentax marketing man and the Theta ambassador.

The stand was busy on and off - I had to wait quite a while to play with the K1. I don't think it was any worse than any other stand, the people using the cameras were focusing on the trains and taking pics. The stand wasn't as big as Canon's or Nikon's but hey what do you expect. It was nice to play with the Z, there were 3 available. There did look to be nice offers available but I'm so camera'd up that I don't need another.

This was my first photography show, I thought it was a little bit underwhelming overall. It's great if you have some cash to burn and want to get a deal from any of the various brands, but it was very limited in the number of stands that cater for my particular niche. That said I'm hoping to have made at least one good contact who'll give me an extreme macro lens to do a review of.

Isn't it disturbing how wrong the Mail is on a subject people do know about, ie what a small tortoiseshell looks like. Even more disturbing - all those subjects we don't know anything about but we read articles in the mail about. Are they all as wrong?
