I understand, perhaps I don't experience this as a problem because I'm still stood behind the camera, so it's in shadow anyway.

On the face of it, to have so long and exposure in light bright enough to cause a problem, seems like quite an extreme situation, so is this happening when very dark ND filters are being used?

Light leakage in cameras has always existed, but usually the exposure is so short it's not obvious and usually it affects the metering more than anything else. I would have expected the flipped up mirror to seal off any leakage from the prism area.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I found this whilst trying to find evidence that this, indeed, exists. But to explain John's point above, it's all to do with which ND you're using. Imagine light leakage through the viewfinder as constant, if you're using ND110 then that leakage may outweigh the light reaching the sensor through the filter, so it can show. If you're using ND2 it probably won't be nearly as bright as the light coming through the lens so it's not an issue.

Whenever I judge photography, be it online or offline, people often ask me what criteria I use etc. I always point them towards the PDF that the RPS puts out about the LRPS. Last time I looked it had an really worthwhile guide to photography, what obvious errors are, what you should look for to self critique.

Seriously worth a read if you've ever felt disappointed by not doing well in photo competitions etc. It's quite a skill navigating the hostile pride of uninformed people that their photo on Flickr maybe isn't actually all that great because the horizon is completely wonky.

Looking for a Pentax 100mm please, but not a macro version. It is important to me for it not to be macro because I require the entrance pupil to be placed far forward and on the 100mm macro it's not.

Please PM me if you have one unused.

Thank you

I have 1x Pentax 360, 2x Pentax 540 and 1x Metz 58-ii. I would recommend the 540 over the 360 because it swivels, you can disable the timeout and the battery cover isn't as flimsy. But it's more expensive.

The Metz 58-ii is also very good, it can do some things not even the Pentax top model can do, like enable rear sync using manual power output with non-a lenses AND wirelessly control the 3 Pentax flashes as master (so they all fire as slaves on manual, giving me a total of 4 flashes firing on rear sync each on its own independent manual power settings). Pentax flashes cannot do this. But this is pretty esoteric functionality that's really not remotely applicable to 99.9999999% of users.

I once got an answer from their tech support guys on this topic, they told me not to go above 12V (K7)
