Someone here might be interested in this little project. If I have time I may give it a go.

Perhaps this app might interest some of the "old school" types who miss using a dark room: link

why don't Pentax advertise these features more?
Very poor marketing ? Sometimes it seems as if they want to keep these things quiet.

Note that this only affects AF, not manual focus - the latter is the domain of the shims that Lance B has comprehensively described elsewhere on PU
Thanks - I have been wondering about this for a while.

The old K15/A15 is a big piece of glass by today's standards, but then again the old Nikon 13/5.6 was an even bigger beast.
Its a real monster.

So, I was thinking of tearing apart an old FD lens, as well as an old lens of mine and trying to mash them together. Is there anything functionally different between the operation of these two lenses? (i.e. shutter leaver works in the opposite way)
When you are done please post some pictures of your creation, and some shots taken with it.

The SFXn is a fine camera, but what puts me off using film these days is the prohibitive cost of getting it processed and scanned over here in Stockholm. I have not done much investigation yet, but I suspect it would be cheaper for me to send it to the UK or even US instead.

One last question. Brass or Aluminium ? Brass is more expensive, but perhaps its easier to to put on / remove ?

I use my K10D almost everyday, and not only for the normal family or creative photography shots. For example last weekend I took the tumble drier to pieces to fit a new drive belt. Great having the camera to hand to photograph the disassembly process, so when I put it all together again I knew where are the pieces went. My memory is not what it was these days !

My SFXn came with the F50/1.7. Bought new sometime in the late 80's I think. Its been a great camera over the years, but these days gets no use. Last year I even bought a new battery for it, but alas I never seem to find the time, or inclination to play with it.

I can't part with it though. Its pretty much in mint condition and I have had it since new.
