Hi Will
Yes I agree I suppose I was trying to salvage this overexposed area.
Will I am looking to design a Flash site with music can you reccommend any software other than Adobe or Swish. Swish is not to bad but Adobe is very complex
Cheers Pete

I REALLY like this latest version, no nasty blown out bits on the falls, and some nice foreground interest with good colours. Lovely.

I've just sold a Z-50P on ebay for £23 and was happy to get that much for it.
IMO a Z70 is not worth a £60 repair

If anyone's after a Tamron Adaptall PKA adaptor, that seller's got one on a lens. Might be a bargain.
Dan
I'm starting to think it might have been a bargain after all however, considering this one still has 3 days to run!

Suspect it didn't sell and has been relisted. Great lens yes, worth £500, I'd say no.

This coupled with the OP's general attitude succeeded in getting peoples backs up. I was sorry to hear that he was suffering from depression and I wish him all the best wherever he has gone, but he did get on my nerves and my nerves are not usually easy to get on.

Steve,
The inescapable fact is that to be a competent digital photographer, you are going to have to invest a lot of time learning how to process your images. But once you have spent that time, digi is quick, easy, and capable of superb results.

As for freebe image processing, I use GIMP 2.2 and UFRAW. UFRAW is a free raw processor which comes as both a plugin to GIMP and a standalone app. I like the standalone version since like George I rarely do much to my images after the RAW-JPEG step, and this way I can set up a huge batch of images and then go have lunch while it processes (also possible with Silkypix).
UFRAW contains no noise reduction at all, so images from it are slightly noisier than the likes of silkypix. For this reason I have also purchased NoiseNinja which handles the noise wonderfully even on full auto mode.
Another option is CaptureOne LE, which can be had for the price of a Sandisk Extreme III memory card since it comes bundled with all such cards. I have never used it, but it is supposed to be very good and Picstop have the cards in question for less than £20.

On that mention of an earlier topic....I was watching a BBC documentary this evening, about the invention of the bicycle. Towards the end, a historian pointed out that as the roads beome more crowded and we are priced off the roads by heinious taxation, the bicycle will become more popular again as it remains a practical, affordable personal transportation system.
I have actually taken my car on more than one occasion because it's easier to park a car in this town than a bike, and thats saying a lot because car parking here is hell.
It's the only place I have ever seen a traffic jam composed entirely of push bikes.
