Being a Pentax fan, posting on a Pentax forum, I would recommend you to have a look at the SMC Pentax FA-D 100/2.8 macro, as I do not have any experience with the Sigma.
There is also some of the older F and FA 100/2.8 macro lenses on ebay every now and then. Outstanding image quality from both of them.

And Reuben; Oh, yes, the K 55/1.8 that came with my KM when I bought it new way back in the -70's was THE lens in my outfit then. Later on, when my sallory accepted it, I extended the gear with a K 120/2.8 and a K 24/2.8. Unfortunally, all of them went away when changing to Contax (sorry, donīt shoot me), but now Iīm back with Pentax again as I'm aiming for the digital world.
Thank you,

Hereīs the deals, all lenses are in Ex+ condition:
Pentax A 50/2 for 25 EUR.
Pentax A 50/1.7 for 45 EUR.
Pentax A 50/1.4 for 85 EUR.
Iīm really having a hard time on the decision as the 50/2 is almost for free, the 50/1.7 is very good and cheap, but the 50/1.4 is what I first was looking for.
How would you guys go?

How do you guys shoot with the K and M lenses on the K10D?
I find the screwmount Takumars with a K-adapter to be convinient in Tv-mode, as it is just "stop down metering", but the K and M lenses requieres some extra button pushing (M-mode) and wonīt work more than wide open in Tv-mode.
I "allow aperture ring" in the menu and use the green button or the stop down feature on the on/off switch to measure light in M-mode.
Am I on the right track? The manual doesnīt really tell.
Thanks,

Yeah, stop down wouldnīt really be a problem the way I mostly shoot. Also, I use a 300/4 SMC Takumar with an adapter, so I think I can live with it.

But I was just wondering.....
Do I need to do "stop down metering" with this lens (K-version) on the K10D?

Have you tried Pentax for your lens cap?
Not too long since the A-version was discontinued so.......

Anybody here who have experience with it?
And to be honest, I donīt plan too much for the DA lens line, as I want my gear to interchange without limits. Digital to Analog and vice vesa....
Am I on the wrong track here?
Thank you,
