Surely if you are taking serious photo's in dim light, you should use a serious flash to go with it, even if it is only used as a focussing aid (spot beam). The onboard flash has many limitations, just as it does on similarly spec'd cameras from other manufacturers.

Others here have proved that, with the right flash, you can take perfectly exposed and in focus images even in pitch black conditions.

The whole point of this section is that people can post photos....
A poster recently put several dozen pics in one post which makes for difficult viewing when they are simply stacked on top of one another. It also costs the poster a lot of time cutting and pasting links for each photo and perhaps a description.

To avoid that, surely it's better to post a sample here and the viewer can then choose whether to view the remainder on a hosting site which probably has a much better interface for viewing them.

Just a suggestion, not a criticism.

Nice set of pics. If you have any more we'd like to see them, but please just give us the link to your hosting site.

There are other ways of making higher than 1:1 magnification macro photo's, but I think all require you to be fairly close to the subject.

1: Reverse mounting a 50mm lens on your camera.
2: Stacking a 50mm lens (you'll need a male to male filter stacking ring of suitable size) on the front of a 70-200mm lens (at 200mm gives roughly 4:1 magnification).
3: Bellows, which is essentially the same as using extension tubes, but infinitely adjustable.

AFAIK the 2 contacts inside the body provide only power, either for the SDM electronics or power zoom on suitably equipped lenses.

I remember I got the advice on this forum, from Mannesty if my memory serves me right.
You can still rely on your memory, you are correct. I think I was the first here to discover what (I thought ) the problem was, and the fix.

I thought, that I needed to scrape paint from where the additional contact should be. I'm pretty sure now that the paint can be scraped from anywhere on the mount face to create the required electrical continuity between lens mount & body mount.

The stands are included with the AF540FGZ, but not the AF360FGZ.
