Fantastic shot, that first one. I have the 44-2, so the most common one and love it. In fact, having seen your post today, took it for a little walk earlier

I had one briefly; it's a fantastic camera, IQ wise. The only issue with it is ergonomics. Grip is a bit shallow, buttons not the most comfy to press (on the big wheel). One other issue I found was poor fps rate but that seems standard in the price bracket.... If you are happy to deal with the above than you wont be disappointed. Anexapmle here - https://www.pentaxuser.com/photo/user-35140/tower-bridge-in-blue----89897; yes it's blue, but color is about the only pp it had...no sharpening/contrast adjustment on that particular photograph.

I also used it for work - real estate on the run - so basically in and out a property in 10 mins with just a camera +mounted flash combo - example here - http://www.horizonq8.com/property/dasman-lovely-furnished-two-bedroom-apartment-...

It is an amazingly light camera. It's well worth dealing with the not so great grip in the long run, considering the price.

It's trying to force you to exchange it for a K1...Ricoh's 'filthy', new sales strategy.... On a more serious note, that is some bad luck; sorry to hear that.

Mhm....I can see a potential in this shot, but to be honest, don't think it works too well as is. The exposure is not long enough to result in smoothness across the
board. It's very uneven. Also, not sure what the focus point was supposed to be on? Generally love pictures taken straight into the sun but from my own experience, it can be a lottery when it comes to outcome Not always as intended. Here it seem all the interesting light is to the left of the subject. If you get a chance, I'd re-shoot. The sky did not help you here - it seems dull but not because it is subtle. Trying to bring it out more, might only result in an 'artificial' look in my opinion. However, I have seen a post processing wizz in action and I do realize there are talented people out there that can make a stunning photograph from an average capture. So don't think I can honestly say, you should quit.

One thing I find myself, it's often worth working on the not necessarily perfect shots. They teach you way more about post processing, than the great ones

I use the back button for AF but just checked on Auto and it doesn't seem to have an tactile feedback either. On a recent trip I was taking photos of people with their cameras of various sort, and distinctly remember none of the Nikon had any either. Seems that's the standard now? With the beep turned off, it was quite awkward I must say when trying to frame the shots in bright sunlight using the lcds due to awkward angles lol.

Awesome shots and yet again, an even better illustrated explanation Thank you.

If you are happy carrying all that weight than I would most definitely take a longer focal length with me. That said, if it was me, it would be a couple of primes - so in your case the 31 and 85 and a kit/zoom. You just can't beat the versatility to weight ratio of one. Whether it's kit or 55-300. Personally, I find stitching photos is not an issue and you loose no quality/resolution by doing so, on the contrary; especially if you are going to carry a tripod anyhow. So having wide angle would be less important than decent tele - there is only so much you can crop without reducing the photo in size beyond reason. Not to mention weather resistance. Having one lens that you can use regardless of conditions is often priceless.

Just my 2 cents

Apparently it was visible quite far south. Either way, a gorgeous image
