My focus was on Newcastle's Gallowgate area on my most recent photo walk in the city. Overshadowed by St James park (Newcastle United) the area features colourful new architecture at the developing Newcastle University.
All these were shot on my K30 and DA*50-135m lens.

Strong colours, strong shapes ...... Photos that pack a punch! The depth and play of light in No6 makes it stand out above the others. The verticals and perspectives are all very straight, considering the angle of shooting.

No 3 has the best shape and eye pulling power.... On the last one I'd crop in at the top and right to remove the distraction breaking the lines in the top right corner.

A great set David - strong and bold. I agree with Nigel's observations about the last one. No 1 is full of abstract impact IMO.

Very good images David.

I'm feeling the need to visit. May even take a few shots in between the pubs.

Best regards

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated. As for the top of the last image I think Nigel and Andy are right and it would look better with the sliver of sky cropped out.

The colours of these are fantastic. Time well spent here.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
