"Couldn't you have moved the tree trunk to one side before you pressed the shutter!? "

Ah, I don't possess the brawn to have transported it Seriously though I know it may not be to everyone's taste but I saw this scene and went immediately to it, wanting the tree trunk in. Perhaps my mistake but I prefer it there, but it's obviously a distraction! You live and learn.
Thank you for your comment

Thanks guys for the comments.
I googled this growth and it's called English Ivy. The tree's in the picture were only about 15 to 20 feet high and I didn't check what they were, not Ash/beech or oak I'm pretty sure. The ivy was 4 inch diameter approx, what amazed me it had reached across the canopy to a second tree and was as thick as a large Python i.e. 4 inch dia. in other areas too. Evil looking in places. For such a small tree(s) this growth must have taken many years. It was quite dark under this canopy of leaves of both Ivy and trees, as still early'ish spring, hence I took a flash for the K1. It reminded me of the Vigeland sculpture park in Oslo.

I have polished the first picture for the blown highlights, (hopefully not a turd )
Any comments appreciated, the original was probably blown' by using gimp, this one is cleaned up properly I hope by using Rawtherapee. Still learning, this is my first waterfall shot on digital and any help accepted.

More pics of the vine tangled trees. More or less SOOC with a bit of brightness and contrast added, used the old flash too.

In search of water as I wanted a waterfall to photo, so to Shaugh Prior on the south west of Dartmoor. Always some water here thankfully. Not a great waterfall but at least some tumbling down over the rocks, any comments appreciated
K1 mkII and DA*11-18 with a ND4. Mainly 18mm and 1/4 sec, possibly up to f11 /& f16 too,

Yes No.2 is my choice too, the sky showing more detail, all excellent shots.

Had another play with the circular polarizer, I don't see any difference through the Viewfinder and have to go by the metering e.g seeing the shutter speed change in Av mode. I have a very old cpl from the eighties and with this you can see it darken the sky and which areas. This new one is an expensive pain in the a***, a Hoya pro 1 digital 82mm MC PL-C.

all on K1 mkII and 28-105 ED DC WR, used step up ring for the CPL, all SOOC shots.
