for diffusing the pop up flash, you might want to look at one of these..

They clip into the hotshoe, and when you need it, just fold it up and over the flash.. it attaches with velcro on the front if needed.

not that I use it anymore, but I have a Canon Sureshot 105 Megazoom. I also have a little 7mp (well. 3.1 interpolated) Megapix SX300 P&S, that I do use still. Takes great little pictures for what it is, and it's smaller than a cigarette packet, so it fits in a shirt pocket easily. I also still have my first ever camera, a Prinz Lightmatic 400, that took 110 cartridges.

I knew the 360 that I'd just bought didn't do P-TTL off camera with my DL, but I didn't know that it would work off camera in M or A modes. I just tested it, and it does. I use a radio unit in the flash socket for a big Sunpack (3600) flash, so I can use that, and the popup will still work with it. A three flash set up.
All I have to do now is get a connector from the 360 to a 1/4" female thread top mount it on a tripod, and I'm all set.
Thanks again.

the top one's a cracker. I like the way you've managed the sun's reflection off the building into the water. Just tops it off,

shame you couldn't make it. I think we all enjoyed ourselves..
There were 6 1/2 of us in the end.. Peter's young lad joined us, and hopefully got a few shots for his competition. There will definitely be another meet.. we discussed it on the way back to the car park, but not sure where yet, although a couple of locations were mentioned.
I'll post up a shot in a little while, as soon as I've had a cuppa.
Note to self for future meets.. don't have 4 pints of coke, and then realise just as you get onto the M25 to go home, that 3 may have been more preferable.

Just a minor point, since food is fairly important to me, do we intend to pub eat and meet, or should I come prefuelled ready for a photo foray :
G
apparently there is a thatched pub called the cockpit/cockfighter??? somewhere very close.. according to Mrs. Liam. I'd check now, but I'm supposed to be working.

if you look under the two preview images, you'll see a set of three links. They're different to the page links, as you'll see, as these are page urls, not image urls. The ? in the link is an action for the browser to perform in php (IIRC).
Click the top one, and a "Copied" flag pops up. Then just paste into your post with the img tags, like this....
I've put spaces in before and after the urls just to stop me from posting them.. remove the spaces and they'll post up.
EDIT: BTW, nice shots..
