Hmm.. one of those things you never think about until someone mentions it.

Right handed, right eyed, and I hold it both ways, depending on something I suppose.. never thought about it. I do know that I have to rotate images both ways when sorting ready for PP. I use a wraparound wrist strap, so my hand will be in the same place regardless, 'cos I don't have the option to move it.

Sitting here in front of the PC, I 'pretended' to hold a camera in portrait, and both orientations seem perfectly comfy.. perhaps I'm just strange..

I saw one in Jessops the other day.. about an A4 (landscape) sized display, and the images looked pretty sharp on it. I didn't look too closely, and I don't remember the price, but it seemed to do a reasonable job.

I don't use the K10, but it looks as though once you've set up the Custom Settings menu to accept that function, it's just activated with the E-Dial..

Hi Sherpa Man,

you have a great lens, easily capable of doing your work justice. Given the choice of what to spend the money on re: flash or lens, use the lens you have and, as mentioned, buy the 360 flash unit. If you aren't completely up to speed on how to use all the gizmos on the flash or camera just yet, stick to all the auto settings, and spend your time concentrating on composition.. Pentax know what they're doing, which saves you worrying on the day, you can just take piccys..

As mentioned, just be careful with exposure. If in doubt just bracket the shots automatically. For the outside shots, (I don't know where the settings are on the 10), but you have a facility to take one shot as the camera sees it, and then one shot taken each side, slightly under/over exposing the shot (by 1/2 or 1 full stop.. IIRC). You end up with 3 times as many shots as you wanted, but 3 times as much chance of getting it right, without recomposing the shot. Indoors, the flash should get it pretty close every time. You can use the bracketing featrure, but you may have problems with the flash recycling quickly enough.

I had some small (6x4) promo pics for a cabaret night I was photographing, done in Tescos, 200 in total. (I'd ordered from BonusPrint, but they hadn't arrived by the Thursday, so I bottled it and ordered extra) They were being sold as a set of 4 postcards.. (to raise money for the do). They weren't too bad. Certainly good enough to use for holiday snaps rather than fine art..

Slightly over-saturated, and the paper was a bit too glossy for my liking, but I'd use them again for general use.

I like BonusPrint as well Kris. I think the quality is actually pretty good, and the paper has a little less sheen on it that other glossy papers I've seen. The Matt paper is nice as well.. I uploaded a mono clock dandelion, in 8x8 just to see how it came out. Not bad at all. I think I prefer glossy for colour work though, though I might choose one as an experiment next time I make an order.

Nice shot Cliff,

if I could suggest a little improvement to it, perhaps a touch of unsharp mask, to more define the ends of the branches, in both the main trees and also the bush to the right of them, and clone out the contrail. But otherwise a lovely capture, that gives it a nice moody feel..

Lowepro slingshot 200.

They're in stock in Jessops in Maidenhead today, and they seem to carry a fair bit of Lowepro gear, so you could probably take the camera in to your local branch to check sizing. I have one, but having never seen a 67, I wouldn't like to guess if it'll fit. I can get a DL and lens, with 4 more lenses and a 360 flash unit in mine, (plus all the usual cards, batteries, filters, etc.) so it's not that tiny..

You wear it like a backpack, but it has one "cross your heart" strap, and you just swing it around to the front to access everything. It comes with a fitted raincover too.. very useful when roaming the Lakes.
