every shot you've shown from that weekend is a belter. Have you thought of contacting them to see if they'll take them off your hands as promo material? Obviously free tickets or monetary donations would need to be negotiated.
The Eddie Tatton one especially, is as good as any promo shot I've seen.

just thought I'd post up one of today's shots. I hadn't had a chance to get out this week until today, so I needed a subject for the comp.. not this actual one, I hasten to add.

Near Ascot in Berkshire, is a lane with probably 200 yards of fencing, obviously put up whilst the trees were mere saplings. Over the years the trees have grown up around the fence, and this is what you get along the entire length. I've posted this one more for your interest than anything else..
Funny old thing nature.

I found this little video.. err.. whilst watching golf instruction videos. (I thought I'd see if they had any photography ones!)

Although it shows all the major brands (and yes, there are some K110 shots floating about) , it doesn't actually mention, or try to market any, specifically; being fairly unbiased in approach. (Yes, they show more Nikon/Canon, but probably because the shop has more of them) I thought it was a pretty good series of points to consider for those looking to purchase their first DSLR.
Hopefully it'll give a few hints to people not sure about what they're wanting to acheive with their new toy, and to help understand the basic terminology.
If it's not Pentaxian enough for here, let me know..

If they were pros, and as they seem to think they're at least computer literate with their work, you'd think something a bit more commercial than a subdomain at homestead to showcase the work would be a start. Server space is as good as free, and a domain name is a couple of quid a pop.
Still.. off to work now.

I agree with George on what is allowable (for my own images anyway). If I can't make a shot work using levels, saturation, and a touch of US mask then it wasn't a good shot to start with. Obviously cropping rotating horizons etc, is admissible, as you could do all this before the advent of digital. That doesn't mean to say that I don't do it for some work, as do others here, but your aiming for an effect rather than trying to fake one.. if you know what I mean; and I often retouch photos for friends, evening out skin tone, belmishes etc. removing a beer pump from the top of a head.. (that was last week..) but that's a different matter. I like to use a photo to remind me of a place and a time, and it's the realism that does this.
As a final point, it's not exactly stunning work technically anyway is it? Would you pay someone to do that to a photo? I'm sure I could do at least as well, and without "replacing the eyes".. eugh.
In fact I might have a go later on with one of them..
