But how much for a new battery? Probably best to buy a dozen cameras so you never have to try to find one.

if you get no joy, they can be picked up for around £10 (in P&P) on ebay (even new). Here's a couple after a quick flick through.. just search in the photography category with the string 1.3.

It's rare to come across a word I haven't heard before, and although obvious from the context I had to look it up.
That's 62 words I know now.

shoot RAW. The two most crucial adjustments that you will get a lot more leeway on are white balance and exposure. Even if you only use those two (if necessary of course) before converting to jpeg, you'll save plenty of shots that you may have thrown away. All the apps listed will give you a simple slider that you can drag left or right whilst watching the effect in real time.
The biggest advantage is that you'll have a digital negative, so as you get better at using whichever app you choose, you can go back and have another go. As new apps become available with more tools etc, you can again go back.
Take RAW, and however stuck you get with processing, there's plenty of people here that'll talk you through it.

The above is what I use, although there won't be support for any of the K series DSLRs (ASAIK).

I use GIMP rather than PS, but when I'm building multiple images, I always "Open as Layer" then move it into position, scaling as/if necessary. I'm sure someone will put me right, but if the images are sized correctly, and so is the corresponding background, then File | Open as Layer for both, and then just move them into position. Just have to increase the display size to 400% to double check you've got them lined up pixel for pixel.

I think there was some non bashing, usefull discussion on the thread, that could've been left, but recognize and respect the moderators decsision to remove.
Best call was made, under the circumstances.
Again, I'll never disagree with a mod.. mainly because I am one (on the very rare occasions that I bother to turn up) on a big tech site, with sometimes dozens of mod decisions a week. Don't envy you one little bit John..

Hi Prieni,
You posted a picture of the surf rolling in on the stickied image linking thread, so rather than use that one, I'll say it here..
That's one hell of a photo..
