Thanks for that. I've just checked the EXIF and it was taken at f11 | 1/180th.

It'd be nice on a kitchen wall I think.

If I get time later I'll post up another one I did.

I've got two poorly laptops to fix today first though.

Cheers

Hi,

I was playing around with an FA50 1.7 reversed on the front of the 18-55, and I quite liked the result of this one..

I took it a couple of weeks ago, and finally had time to post it..

Hi Brian,

#2 is very sexy..

Not what you see, rather what you don't.. if you know what I mean.

No problem,

for web images, where you just want to add a bit of simple security, but not necessarily need to copyright every image, just add a transparent image (again a .gif) over the top of the one on display..

Then when someone right clicks to save it, they get an 800x600 transparency..

..by no means foolproof, it's relatively simple to get around if you know; but it'll stop people with only a basic knowledge from cruising the web and nicking random images.

Hi Lilly,

design a new copyright graphic on a transparent layer (you can always use an extra temporary coloured layer whilst in the design process, to make it easier to see), and save as a .gif file (the only format that will recognise true transparency AFAIK). When you want to add it to an image, just Open as Layer, the "copyright.gif" file and move it to where you want.

You can design several, depending on the colour of your main image..

copyrightwhite.gif
copyrightblack.gif
copyrightblue.gif
copyrightred.gif

..etc..

and use the one you want each time, with a couple of mouse clicks..

Job done.

Hi Peter,

contact Chris at SRS, and he'll probably do you a very good deal. He's a member here, and comes highly recommended by everyone who's used him/them.

I have seen the same kind of problems in numerous devices. For some reason there are not many designers who can come up with a decent battery door...
My old flashgun for example, a Regula Variant 740-2mfd just had a nice front cover which you could slide off.
The people who designed my Sunpak hammerheads had the right idea.. you get a little cartridge in the battery compartment which you remove, put the batteries in, and then put the whole lot back in the gun as one unit. This means that you haven't got the spring pressure from the contacts forcing against the door. I would have though that allowing an extra couple of mm inside the case to do this wouldn't have been beyongd the wit of the Pentax design team.

It also means that you can have a spare cartridge loaded and ready to go.. a couple of seconds to change batteries.. very useful if you're doing a wedding or similar job where speed is of the essence.
