K100D problems

My camera has ceased functioning completely, its dead with only the battery symbol (very rarely) flashing. There is no menu on the LCD, I only bought it in June 07, I have tried new sets of batteries to no avail. Any ideas or is it a back to the shop job for a replacement . Thanks

I had a similar problem with my iSTDL2 using cheapo alkaline batteries.
Since using NiMH re-chargeable batteries I have had no problems.
It would be worth investing in re-chargeables, anyway.
If these do not work the camera, then take it back.

Thanks..have tried both normal and rechargable batteries but no go...took it back to the shop today and although they managed to get it working, it did shut down on them so they reckon it has some kind of intermittent fault...they wanted to repair it but I stood my ground as it's only just over two months old and so they are getting me a new one for Thursday....

Good on you Rae for being firm. It's only fair that you should get a new replacement after that short period of time.
