Thanks, David. I hope to have a few more years “getting up there”, even if it takes longer than it used to!

Thank you, Peter. We were there for three days. Day 2 didn’t clear until the evening, hence the lakeside set. Day 3 (this set) was by far the best day, weather wise.

Inspired is certainly an appropriate description here - for me, all of the flower images are top-notch in every respect - composition, colour, lighting, focal point, depth of field, bokeh etc etc. Superb!

Thanks, all, for your comments - glad to bring a little sunlight!

Steve, I appreciate your taking the time to comment in detail as you have, so here goes! First, I left the fence posts there as I thought they gave a bit of a lead-in line rather than empty water. Doesn't mean I'm right and you're wrong, just a different view. The fence (at least that part of it) does not in fact run from the shore (though I guess it surely must have at some point in its life! Here's a shot I took on a dull day seven years ago:

Secondly, I understand what you say and it's a perfectly valid approach. However, you probably know that I'm a sucker for "big skies" and it never occurred to me to crop as you suggest. I do seem to be cropping more and more these days from 3:2 to 16:9 ratio in my landscapes. Maybe it's because I like to see them fill my computer screen!

Thanks, both. John, I know just what you mean by "yearn to be back" - I usually go walking up there a couple of times a year with an old school pal, but this was the first time in almost two years. We didn't realise until we were there just how much it means to us to keep going back!

A wonderfully calm place to be as the sun goes down and the crowds have gone! K70 + DA 16-85. All comments welcome.

A walk up Bowfell in early July which started in low cloud which lifted just as we reached the top and lovely sunshine to finish. K70 + DA 16-85. All comments welcome.
