Thanks, Serge - and I agree that there's a great similarity to the Burren, another wonderful natural phenomenon.

And John, talking of enjoyment - thanks again for a supportive comment. There's no doubt in my mind that being outdoors with a camera has been a hugely positive part of life over the last couple of years.

Fascinating effects, Serge, enhanced by the choice of subject - or should that be the other way round? True works of art!

Super as they stand but you can't tell me you haven't been tempted to try some contrasty mono conversions
Interesting suggestion, John - I did feel that they are largely dominated by the limestone and the sky, so no, I didn't try the conversion. However, since you mention it .... these two do seem to lend themselves to it and I like the way the light can be brought out on the rocks. Any good for you?

The first two stand out for the quality of the light - low, warm, slightly hazy - gorgeous
Thanks, John - just how I wanted them to look!

Thanks, Paul. I did contemplate the scramble, but chickened out (not for the first time!) That's one scramble that I have always thought is asking for trouble, esp. with a camera.

You can't walk around Malham with a camera and not take photos of the grikes, which I think is the term for the gaps in the limestone. So to finish off this series ....

I think the impact of no.1 is so strong that the others, which are also good, pale by comparison. As it is, no.1 is outstandingly good.
